A little over two years ago, James started Cycle Repairs with a simple goal: to keep people riding 🚲.

With 11 years in the bike industry, James has built a reputation for reliable, local bike repairs and that hasn’t changed. We’re still your go to for keeping your bikes rolling, and always will be.

What is changing… is that we’re growing. We’re excited to be expanding into cargo e-bike sales, and we’re proud to be the official dealer of and . Plans are in the works for family friendly tours and trial options 👀.

I haven’t posted much here and that was intentional.

For a long time, I had enough work just showing up and doing what I do best.

But things are changing.

I’m building something bigger than just repairs.
More bikes, more families, more ways to get people out of cars and onto something better.

Stock is on the way.
New ideas are in motion.

Still mobile. Still local. Just… expanding.

We are looking for a skilled, friendly, and self-motivated Mobile Bicycle Mechanic to join the team and bring top-notch bike repair services directly to our customers' doorsteps.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality bike repairs and maintenance at customers' locations.

Diagnose mechanical issues and offer effective solutions for all bike types (road, mountain, electric, etc.).

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and professional experience.

Maintain a well-stocked service vehicle.

Manage scheduling and appointments for service calls, ensuring timely arrivals.

Stay up-to-date with the latest bike technology and repair techniques.

Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding service details and pricing.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a bicycle mechanic.

Strong technical knowledge of bicycle repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Ability to work independently, with excellent time management skills.

Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Previous suspension servicing experience preferred

Wow, I can’t believe I missed my birthday, and now Christmas is almost here! Where has this year gone? It’s incredible to think I’ve just hit the one-year mark! 🥳

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on this passion project. It’s been such a rewarding experience, even though it was a bit stressful at the start.

Last year, I serviced just shy of 600 bicycles—wow! Here’s to making year two even better!

E-Cargo Bikes! Love em or hate em, either way these have become a big part of what I do on the regular.
I love these types of bikes, so practical, kids, groceries, depending on your set up these can easily replace your car for all trips within 5km.
Like all things there are draw backs, servicing being one of them but I have you covered on that 😎

Preventative maintenence/Regular servicing, is it worth it?

Some serious issues over the last few weeks and some just causing premature wear costing you $$$ if you have to replace it earlier than need be.

What am I looking at ? They are holes in the frame from a badly wonky wheel rubbing on the chain stay over time, leaving the frame unsafe to use! 😬
