It’s been over a year since we moved into our new office at 55 Bridge Street so we are now taking the next step in measuring the building’s environmental performance through a NABERSNZ rating with the help of Stephanie F. Millar from ESG Solutionz.

Environmental performance was an important consideration throughout the design and construction of 55 Bridge Street.

NABERSNZ provides an independent assessment of how a building performs in operation, using 12 months of actual energy and utility data.

For us, it provides a valuable benchmark of the building’s performance now that it is fully operational, while helping identify opportunities for continued improvement.

Think Big. Start Small. Swap One. Last week Lucy Byrne from Swap One visited our office to share how we can swap just one high-carbon trip a week for a low-carbon option.

Transport is Nelson’s biggest source of emissions, making up around 58% of our region’s total. With roughly 43,000 fossil-fuelled vehicles on our roads, changing even a few of the trips we make can make a difference.

That’s why we have signed up to Swap One. It’s a local initiative encouraging people to swap some of their usual car trips for walking, biking, taking the bus or carpooling.

In its first year, Swap One participants avoided an estimated 25 tonnes of carbon emissions, about the same as the annual household emissions of 21 people in Nelson. It might seem small on its own, but the more people and workplaces that get involved, the more it adds up.

Thanks to Lucy for coming in and getting our team involved. If your workplace is based in Nelson/Tasman, check out swapone.nz.

Today, we are celebrating Ruby Hopkinson who, ten years ago, started behind the info kiosk at Richmond Mall. From there she moved to Tinline Property Head Office in Accounts Payable, before making her way back to the mall, where she's now Duty Manager.

Having worked across such different parts of the business, Ruby has built an incredible understanding of what goes into keeping a shopping centre running. She stays calm under pressure and takes real care of our tenants and customers which we are so grateful for.

It’s been great to see Ruby grow throughout her time with Tinline and become such an important part of our team.

Congratulations on 10 years, Ruby!

Last week, our Centre Manager Belinda took our Richmond Mall retailers through Stage 2 of the redevelopment.

With construction moving quickly, keeping our existing retailers informed and connected throughout the journey is important to us. We’re incredibly grateful for their patience, positivity and continued support.

The site visit gave retailers the opportunity to view the progress firsthand and raise any questions directly with our team.

We look forward to sharing the next update as Stage 2 progresses.

A little more colour has arrived at Papamoa Plaza.

Local artist Jasmine Kroeze has completed artwork across the utility boxes in the centre’s carpark, turning an everyday piece of infrastructure into something worth noticing.

Papamoa Plaza has a new brand identity and Jasmine worked to weave this into the physical art piece, along with inspiration from the wider Bay of Plenty.

Rather than taking a literal approach to the region, she drew on familiar colours, patterns and textures. From striped beach towels and checkered boardshorts to the greens and blues of the surrounding landscape.

The result is a bright and distinctive installation that feels very much at home at Papamoa Plaza.

We love being part of creating great places people enjoy, big or small. Very grateful for creatives and their talents.

Thanks Jasmine!

Carmen Boyden from Tinline Property and Leah Sutton and Julie Davis from Centre Management are pictured with the art.

Some great photos of Pak'nSave opening in 1996! 30 years on, it's growing again, and there's a reason for that.

We're currently extending Pak'nSave's footprint at Richmond Mall, including a new covered loading bay to keep up with how the store operates day to day.

Nelson Tasman is one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand. Home to 115,000+ people, backed by a $3.9 billion economy and growing at 4% GDP per annum.

More people means more demand on the businesses that serve them, and Pak'nSave is a good example of what that looks like in practice.

Thirty years in, and the store is still growing to keep up with the region around it.

We put on a roof shout for the tradies! Those building Richmond Mall Stage 2 have had early mornings, freezing winter days, weekend shifts, the team on this site have earned a lot more than a sausage.

Thank you Coman Construction, GRE Services, FFP, Jo McDonald, Centre Management and everyone else involved in getting us this far.

Thanks Lumiere for the awesome video.

Last Friday night, we helped raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters Nelson / Tasman at their fundraising and charity auction dinner as a cornerstone sponsor.

Our CEO Jamie Gaskell's late father helped bring BBBS to New Zealand back in 1996 through his work with the NZ Police and his involvement with Rotary. Trevor Gaskell served on the local and national board, and mentored a young person himself.

Richmond Mall has been a cornerstone sponsor of BBBS Nelson/Tasman for more than eight years and this year Tinline Property has also joined them as a cornerstone sponsor.

On the night, Richmond Mall donated gift vouchers to the auction and a guided tour through the mall's redevelopment.

Thank you to Tracee Neilson and the whole BBBS Nelson/Tasman team for the amazing work you do in our region.

If you know a young person in Nelson/Tasman who could use a mentor, BBBS Nelson/Tasman would love to hear from you.

From bare ground to 3,873m² of retail space.

Construction is now complete on our new Large Format Retail at Papamoa Plaza.

Built by Naylor Love, the project ran from 21 July 2025 to 31 July 2026 and was delivered on programme to a high standard. Joseph Stradwick managed tenancy coordination, and Leroy Wolland at Colliers has been driving leasing for the space. A huge amount of work went into getting the space open, thank you to everyone involved.

Special thanks to Looking Glass Videos for capturing the time-lapse and drone footage showing the full construction sequence from the bare site through to completion.

This addition reflects the continued growth of Papamoa Plaza and our investment in the wider region.

For leasing enquiries at Papamoa Plaza, please reach out to Carmen Boyden or Emily Johnston at Tinline Property or Leah Sutton at Centre Management.
