I immigrated to New Zealand in 2014 with my family. My wife and I are both Water Engineers and we have settled down in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay. We have been running Persian Rug Gallery HB since December 2015, selling a variety of Persian handcrafted goods such as rugs, leather bags, tablecloths, Kilim runners, traditional clothing, jewellery, etc, that we import straight from Iran. Since we ar
e from a country with an old heritage and culture, we decided to spread Persian Art into this side of the world. Not only would we like to familiarise Kiwis with the Persian culture and art, but we also aim to help and support the women who are working in a very poor conditions in small villages and tribes of IRAN. Such women create Persian masterpieces without getting paid enough for their time and their art. Such women have inherited their skills from their families through the generations and work hard to keep their ancient art and culture alive and we hope that we can somehow support them. We normally travel back home once a year and we hand-pick the goods from the villages in Iran to import to New Zealand. Our services are:
