We’ve been busy planting bulbs for the past month or so. Mainly Iris, tulips and daffodils. Experimenting with a few different planting methods this time , digging a trench, drilling holes and crate planting to see what works best. More clips to follow 😀

With the long weekend, it was time to get the big job of digging up, dividing and putting the dahlias tubers to bed for the winter. You can leave them in the ground over winter but there is risk of them rotting if we have a very wet winter and they aren’t protected. I also wanted to dig them up so that I can divided them up to hopefully get many more dahlias growing next season . From the 45 plants we had , we got about 250 tubers. So hopefully many of those grow successfully next season. It took a minute, hence the long post, but with some luck it’ll pay off 🤞🏽🤞🏽

With the summer flowers finished , it was time to tidy and refresh the beds ready for the spring plants coming in soon. So far 4 beds down, 3 to go 👍🏽👍🏽
