Monday night fun… Reverse engineering a custom built hardware controller so we can write our own new firmware for it.

This is the old hardware that drives the golden shears timing and scoring system. Time to make it do new things.

Since we released Virtual Video Director 6 in January, there has been a flurry of large studio's switch over to the new version to take advantage of all the new features.

ESPN Radio Chicago is the latest to go live on Virtual Video Director 6.

Thanks to Fritz Golman for all his feedback which has helped make VVD 6 so awesome. Fritz was the man behind getting ESPN Chicago up and running with live video so quickly.

A bit more about the new Spectera wireless system we are switching over to.

Noise Productions will be the first production company in New Zealand to carry Spectera and there is now over a year lead time on new orders so we will be the only company in NZ for at least the next year.

Its going to be an absolute game changer for professional wireless audio.

We are taking bookings for the system from October 2025 and dates through to the end of year are filling up fast so if you have a project that needs a lot of bulletproof wireless, get in touch.

It's no secret that we have never been huge fans of wireless microphones. They drop out, they glitch and they are generally a pain on every front.

However, Sennheiser have knocked it out of the park with their new Spectera wireless system.

You can now do 32 wireless microphones and 16 stereo in ear monitors from a single receiver that is only 1 rack unit big.
On top of that the entire system is bi-directional so you can change any setting on any mic remotely.

That is completely insane.
We are one of the first in New Zealand to carry Spectera in rental inventory so drop us a line if you need a bunch of wireless microphones for an upcoming project.

Tonight we deployed just about our full Martin Audio rig for the Wairarapa Balloon Festival night glow.

To cover the main stadium we used 6 Martin Torus boxes with double 18” subs at each station then 18 Martin CDD live around the 4corner meter oval.

What a fantastic night.

A great example today of a radio station that is producing Television grade programming using our Virtual Video Director software.

Houston Public Media have really stepped up the game and have built a fully automated studio using Virtual Video Director. There is no director switching the cameras, it's all fully automated using our Wheatstone blade integration and Central Control.

We hope everyone is coping with the lead up to Christmas, whether you are in the broadcast or production industry it’s always a crazy time of year.

Check out the latest studio to go live with Virtual Video Director in Nashville.

The contractor for this studio had it fully automated with live camera switching in under 30 minutes using our Virtual Video Director software. The studio is now able to broadcast TV grade content without needing a full time vision switcher.

It’s always cool to see VVD being used around the world in some prettty cool setups.

Well that’s a wrap on the summer outdoor events season for us, culminating in the iconic Masterton Summer Hummer. It’s been another busy events season in the Wairarapa starting way back in November with Toast Martinborough, Wings Over Wairarapa, Jetsprints Wairarapa, Masterton Christmas Parade, Christmas on the PA, A Very Carterton Christmas, Wairarapa Music In The Country Festival, Weddings, Showjumping, Provincial Insurance Brokers presents Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival, The Golden Shears, Gintastic and finally Summer Hummer.

Thanks to the small and largely unsung team of people behind the scenes that work tirelessly and extremely long hours to make sure all these events go off without a hitch.

We are in full swing at the Golden Shears again providing a world class broadcast of this unique globally reaching event and making sure all the technical doodickies keep doing their technical doodickery stuff.

This year we continue to extend into the digital scoring space to help take competitive shearing sports to the next level. It’s been great to have AJ Hunter on board this year who has mastered the intricacies of competitive shearing sports points scoring and of course Thorin Williams switching all the cameras we have scattered around the stadium.
