Kia ora e te whānau. It was an honor to have spent the morning with these beautiful wahine toa me whānau in Melbourne Australia. Teaching contemporary rīpene tukutuku weaving. Mihitoi was established four years ago. I came up with this concept using contemporary materials and using traditional Māori patterns. Acknowledgement to my sister's Jewel Patea, G*e White who shared her stunning rīpene weaving boards and my nephew Eric as my photographer for their tautoko.
