A small box of flys going off to the UK as a gift for some lucky person. I was approached by a local person wanting to take a box of New Zealand flys over to a friend in the UK. Where possible I've tried to tie patterns or variants that originated in or typify New Zealand.

Over the past 3 weeks I've been tying the "ten of the best New Zealand trout flys". You might wonder where I got the idea and what makes them the best. There's certainly other flys out there that I use and tie more.
Well it all comes from this little book I purchased last year. I decided to set myself the challenge of tying each of the flys in this book, as some I knew and used, others I didn't. It was great to learn how to use different materials and now the challenge is to use them out on the water and see if they really are ten of the best.
