I wanted to share this with you it’s something pretty special.

There’s an opportunity for our tamariki to have their voices heard, right at Parliament. Young people from across Aotearoa are being invited to write letters about the future of our moana, what they care about, what they want to see protected, and the kind of future they hope for.

One of them will even be chosen to go to Wellington (with a guardian) to hand the letters to the Prime Minister.

As someone who spends a lot of time in and around the ocean, I see how powerful it is when young people feel connected to it and even more powerful when they realise their voice matters.

If you’ve got kids at home, this could be a really cool little activity to do together.
