Card Merchant Dunedin Welcome to your new friendly local game store at 23 Princes Street, Dunedin! By players for players. We are based in Dunedin as part of the Card Merchant group.

In store you'll find endless board games, card games, TCGs and events. We have the largest range in the South Island and we specialise in the unique. If you don't see what you like instore or online, let our lovely staff know and they can look into getting it. Our online shop is still called The GameStore. Pop on to get all your game needs delivered to you across New Zealand and Australia.

Huge thank you to everyone who came down for the first night of our 3rd Birthday Celebration Weekend!

Tonight we had an awesome turnout across the store:
24 players for Magic: The Gathering
21 players for Pokémon
11 players for Flesh and Blood
6 players for Star Wars Unlimited

That brings us to 62 people in store today, which is absolutely incredible.
We really appreciate everyone who came in, played games, supported the events, and helped us kick off our birthday weekend properly. It was an awesome night and a great reminder of how strong the Dunedin gaming community is.

We’re not done yet either!
We’ve still got more awesome events running tomorrow and Sunday as part of the celebration weekend, so come down, get some games in, catch up with the community, and help us keep the birthday weekend going.

Pokemon update for tonight.

Tonight’s Pokemon Standard event will now be starting at 6:45pm instead of 6pm.

For anyone who was planning around a 6pm start, please make note of the updated start time of 6:45pm.

Tonight also kicks off our 3rd Birthday Weekend at Card Merchant Dunedin, and we’ve got a huge night of events lined up to get the celebration started.

Card Merchant Dunedin is turning 3, and we’re celebrating with a massive weekend of TCG events, giveaways, prizes, special offers, and community fun!

Across the weekend we’ll have events for:

As part of the celebration, where possible, events will be run using formats that encourage players to bring the deck, hero, strategy, or game experience they’ve enjoyed the most over the last three years at Card Merchant Dunedin.

This weekend is about celebrating the games, the decks, the moments, and the community that have helped make the store what it is today.

Expect free events, booster pack giveaways, promo packs, playmats, win-a-box events, lucky door prizes, exclusive product offers, learn-to-play opportunities, and plenty of reasons to come celebrate with us.
