The opening of the Arts Canterbury Art Show at The Cashmere Club was a great night last night.

With such a dull day out there, be sure to head along and support our local artists.

We love seeing what you are doing with our products....
And this one really fascinated us!

Local guy, Matt, is using the Jacquard iDye Poly for something a little left field, and we were intrigued at how well and how effective this dye works!

iDye Poly is virtually the only dye that will colour polyester- and almost anything synthetic: plastics, nylons, buttons, 3D printed objects, toys, dolls, wigs, and these frisbee golf discs!

The dye comes in a dissolvable packet, so there are no messy powders to handle: simply drop the packet in a pot of water, add the fabric/object and bring to a simmer.

The marbling effect Matt has created on these frisbee discs looks great!

We are open from 10am until 4pm today and again tomorrow, so pop in and see us at 500 Colombo Street, and if you've got a project you'd like to share with us- we would love to see!

This weekend, more than 90 local artists will be exhibiting at the 2026 Arts Canterbury Art Show at The Cashmere Club.

Arts Canterbury have Youth Artists participating in this exhibition, and are excited to provide this opportunity for the next generation of Canterbury artists.

You will find traditional paintings and drawings on show, as well as sculptures, jewellery and much more!

The show opens at 7pm on Friday 14th of August with a ticketed opening night (via Humanitix.)

Over the weekend, head along Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm. Gold coin entry.

We look forward to seeing many of our artists who are exhibiting, and wish you all the best of luck for a fruitful weekend!!

Melting Pot brings together four artists, each on their own distinctive creative journey. From sweeping landscapes to intricate insect sculptures, expressive abstracts and much-loved wildlife, there's something to surprise and delight around every corner.

Enjoy work by Lauren Carmichael, Sarah Cavill, Frank Sin and Martin Langlands.

Lauren is one of our regulars and has been a TDR customer for many moons now! She works in mixed media, creating intuitive pieces that evolve as she works.

The exhibition runs through until the 27th of August, so head out to Darfield for a visit!
