NZ label Ruby () has extended their size range - and team, it’s GOOD.
As someone who has always felt left out of the designer label game (because it wasn’t in my size) I was sceptical. But when I headed in store for a try on I thought ‘Is this how straight sized women feel when they try on clothes?’ Each piece is so beautifully made and feels luxurious. I have already bought myself 4 pieces.
- The Weirder slip: You’ll want to wear it under everything. It’s your 90’s throw back glamour moment that hugs curves and is both somehow sexy and tough. It makes every dress you put over it look better and I’ll have one in every colour thanks! Available to size 24, and in custom sizes made to your measurements.
- The Kenzie sweater, comes in 4 colours and somehow I already own 2, I couldn’t pick! I love that it’s cropped, the sleeves are beautifully voluminous and it’s made of Merino and Cashmere 💕 Available to a size 20 (I am wearing the 16 and am usually a size 18).
Making a new size range is not easy. It takes months of pattern testing, fit modeling and construction expertise to make it happen. I want us to support the Ruby team as they continue the journey to dress a more diverse range of women. They know there is further to go, take their work seriously and create with heart.
