Thanks to Jarod Carruthers Photography for the photo shots, Rd5 Manfeild. Overall another awesome weekend, the weather held off Saturday, and Sunday was damp but nothing very drastic.
The new format allowed everyone to pack up and leave between 2.30 to 2.45pm which is a huge bonus for those that have to travel the long haul back to Auckland.
With no testing Sunday, the new format also put an extra test on the drivers, with further emphasis required to get kart and engine set up correct for the first race Sunday. This subtle, but extra element, adding a further dimension to the outcome of race 2. (First race Sunday)
Kart 88, driven and built by Andrew Hall, owner and operator of Lifestyle Mowing Machinery, had a weekend of 2nd's. 4 races and 4 x 2nd placings. Running Hoosier slick tyres was a definite move forward from the Dunlops previously used. However the Dunlop W15 wet tyres performed excellently on Sunday when the rain came down for race 2 and 3.
Round 6 of the superkart drivers club series is 22-23rd September at Hampton Downs.
