Music in Eden │Free Live Lunchtime Music │Fri 5 Jun 12noon-1pm
This week, Eden Arts' concert features rising star Qian Wan, a 15 year old cello student of James Tennant, performing the 1st and 2nd movements of the solo suite by Gaspar Cassado, which is rich in Spanish/flamenco expressions, the 2nd 3rd movements of the ever popular Concerto by Dvořák, and the gorgeous "Après un rêve" by Fauré, with Rosemary Barnes accompanying on the piano.

The concert will finish with Qian's competing chamber music group (in the secondary school's chamber competition) performing the 2nd and 4th movements of the exuberant and very intense 2nd trio by Shostakovich.

This is a concert of great diversity and delight which will be one to remember for a long time.

So come along to the Mt Eden Village Centre (449 Mt Eden Rd) for some wonderful Free Live Music on Friday from 12 to 1pm! What a treat!

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at one of Mt Eden Village's cafes. There are lots of great places to choose from.

IMAgEN8 presents THE BREATHING EARTH │ June 5-12 │ Mt Eden Village Centre
Come along to this Auckland Festival of Photography Exhibition from June 5-12 being held at the Mt Eden Village Centre. All welcome. No registration required.

We often view nature as a static backdrop, but through the lenses of these young artists, we see a world that is vividly alive. THE BREATHING EARTH explores the movements that define our environment - a bird in flight, the setting sun, the sway of autumn leaves, the flow in a river, waves crashing over rocks, trees bending in a strong wind, and more. These young photographers (ages 10–17) invite you to slow down and witness the beauty of a planet that is always on the move.

IMAgEN8 is a registered charity whose purpose is to foster sustainable connections with New Zealand's natural environment in our diverse communities through education, photography and technology.

Visit www.imagen8.co.nz for more details.
