Ṣalāh is of supreme importance — the pillar of religion. 🕊️
It is our primary connection with Allah, a source of spiritual ascension, and a means of purifying the soul. Ṣalāh distinguishes between faith and disbelief, helps guard us from sin, and it is the first deed we will be questioned about on the Day of Judgment.
Imam al-Ṣādiq (ع) says:
“The first thing a servant will be brought to account for is the prayer. If it is accepted, everything else will be accepted; and if it is rejected, everything else will be rejected.” (al-Kāfī)
And Allah (SWT) says in Sūrat al-Mu’minūn (سورة المؤمنون) — “The Believers”:
“Successful indeed are the believers—those who have humility and true attentiveness (khushūʿ) in their prayer.”
(Qur’an 23:1–2)
Sometimes, simply understanding and pondering on what we say can unlock deeper focus and khushūʿ in ṣalāh.
