Today was truly special at Coffee at Anu Books.

We were honored to welcome Maggie Doyne a CNN Hero, an extraordinary changemaker, and the author of Between the Mountain and the Sky — along with her lovely children.

Just recently, we had the privilege of visiting Kopila Valley School in Surkhet, founded and nurtured by Maggie. What we witnessed there was nothing short of inspiring: a true model of sustainable integration, dignity, and possibility.

What many of us assume is “too difficult” or “impossible,” Maggie and her team are helping children live every single day — with purpose, structure, love, and hope.

During her visit today, we had the joy of sharing our own story , how Coffee at Anu Books is more than a café, and more than a bookstore. It is a community-building space, designed to bring people together through books, conversation, and serenity.

Maggie was incredibly gracious, and it meant so much to hear how much she loved our collection and the spirit of our creative reading space.

We are also genuinely excited and humbled to support Kopila Valley School by curating a library collection for their children. Going through shelves together and helping select books that can shape young minds was an experience we will always cherish.

Thank you, Maggie, for your inspiring work — and for your generous presence today.
You reminded us that change doesn’t need to be loud — it needs to be consistent, compassionate, and courageous.
