The design takes its inspiration from the traditions that go often centuries back. The attention to detail is a tribute to excellent workmanship. The building design method is complex and not easy to reproduce. The completely handmade guitar is built by using the finest woods and constructed following the highest levels of craftsmanship. The new Sunbird Vienna. (owned by Wolfgang Muthspiel)
Not without proud I present the new nylon string crossover Archtop. A nylon string clearly not for classical players but for those other who just love to play a great nylon string guitar.
It took me 6 months or more to come to a design concept of which I thought may work. Although building mostly nylon string guitars in the first 15-20 years of my career I studied the great Italian masters of violin making. The most famous books were : Die Kunst des Geigenbaues, Möckel -Winkel and “the Secrets of Stradivari, Simone F. Sacconi. Not to copy which is simply impossible but to understand there thoughts behind their unique design concept: The curves in relationship to the thickness of the plates.
Therefor I am so pleased that the Sunbird Vienna will be owned by no other great player then Wolfgang Muthspiel. He has an impressive career as a nylon string Jazz player.

The very nice new nylon string Archtop: The SunBird Vienna. It took about 6 months or more to design. The sound is acoustically impressive. Wolfgang Muthspiel is the owner of the Sunbird VIenna and for sure this makes me very proud: could not wish me a better owner. Sound samples will follow soon.

Stage Podium aan Schouwen.
Yesterday Saturday a great concert took place at Podium aan Schouwen. Both duo Rob Luft & Elina Duni and Zsófia Boros performed on this nice stage. Both are from the famous Label ECM.
They were just incredible and the audience did truly value that. I was impressed by the well thought emotional approach in which Zsófia transformed some beautiful peaces to a truly higher level. And also impressed by the Jazz guitar player Rob Luft handling the sometimes fast notes on his guitar in such a virtuoso way. The voice of Elina just does not need words as her clear voice became one part with the guitar of Rob. And Lucky: Now one of my classical guitars (The Concertura Concert) found a nice new home in Vienna. So happy with that. What a great honor.
