This annual ”pottenbakkersmarkt” will be held as a jubilee edition for the 35th time. Since 1988 it has performed as a platform for clay artists, counted to the best in Europe. But participant colleagues from Japan, UK and USA too have found great joy in the warm surrounding of the clay producing countryside of Milsbeek, just off the German border. This years event will feature: “do it yourself” with 4 categories of workshops, where you can be assisted by professionals to improve your throwing techniques, to (start) build your own castle in clay, to help you with clay/firing/glazing problems or even to start your own portrait set-up. In this outdoor event some 90 potters will show and sell their new work. Add to this the demonstrations on ceramics techniques, being informed at specialized shop/booths selling every kind of material you can think of, chatting with the participants about their work or just having a coffee with “Limburgse vlaai” and strolling along the waterfront, and experience the peaceful surroundings of this region. The very “why” clay is so attractive!
