Bij Boekhandel Dominicanen vind je een breed en diep assortiment boeken, muziek, cadeauartikelen en vele activiteiten in een unieke locatie in het hart van Maastricht Sinds december 2006 huisvest de ruim zevenhonderd jaar oude Maastrichtse Dominicanenkerk, vlakbij het mooie Vrijthof, een kwaliteitsboekhandel: Boekhandel Dominicanen. In maart 2014 hebben we een doorstart gemaakt als de zelfstandige
Boekhandel Dominicanen. Bij Boekhandel Dominicanen vindt u een prachtig assortiment boeken, van kinderboeken tot kunst, van literatuur tot Limburgensia en van recht tot reizen. Maart 2015 is op de eerste verdieping een volwaardige muziekafdeling toegevoegd met CD’s, DVD’s en vinyl. Op het voormalige priesterkoor van de Dominicanenkerk treft u het befaamde Blanche Dael Coffeelovers. Het koor is tevens het culturele podium van Boekhandel Dominicanen. Wekelijks vinden er activiteiten plaats zoals signeersessies, debatten, lezingen, interviews en muzikale optredens, uiteraard telkens met een knipoog naar wat ons zo lief is: het boek. Bookshop Dominicanen is open since december 14th 2006. Untill 2013 we were part of the bookshop chains Selexyz and Polare. March 21 2014 we restarted as Boekhandel Dominicanen. We receive approx 700.000 visitors per year. Our collection contains new and second-hand books, including books in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian (last four a small selection). On the first floor is a music department with CD’s, DVD’s, and Longplayers. We have a public forum function as well and organise more than 100 events per year (exhibitions, debates, interviews, music, workshops etc.). The Dominican church is an Gothic monastery church situated in the centre of Maastricht. The church is built in the 13th century of marl stone on a foundation of millstone-grit, consecrated in 1294. In 1796 the church’s ecclesiastical function ended, its later uses being a.o. stables, a bike shed, exhibition space and a party hall.
