The new Sony FX5, the latest addition to Sony’s Cinema Line, is here.

Designed for filmmakers who need flexibility, speed, and uncompromising image quality, the FX5 brings many of the most requested features into one compact cinema camera:

• New 16.6MP full-frame Exmor RS sensor
• 15+ stops of dynamic range
• BIONZ XR2 processor
• 5K 3:2 Open Gate up to 60p
• Internal X-OCN RAW recording
• 4K up to 120fps and Full HD up to 240fps
• AI-assisted subject recognition and fast, accurate autofocus
• Improved in-body image stabilisation
• 3.5-inch, 4-axis multi-angle touchscreen
• Optional OLED viewfinder
• Four-channel, 96kHz/32-bit float audio recording
• New dual-XLR handle
• Optional BNC timecode cable for multicamera and external audio synchronisation

Sony has also announced that 5K full-frame recording up to 120fps and 4K recording up to 240fps are planned for a future firmware update.

Covering a versatile 19-35mm focal range with a constant T3.5 aperture, the lens combines cinematic image quality with smooth, precise power-zoom operation. Optical image stabilisation and a weather-resistant construction make it ready for demanding productions, both in the studio and on location.

The GF19-35mm shares its exterior dimensions and control layout with the existing GF32-90mmT3.5 PZ OIS WR, allowing crews to switch lenses without rebuilding their camera rig.
