Artificial lashes often get a bad rep — super long (like caterpillars 🐛), plastic-looking, and you see the eyes before the whole face… but it really doesn’t have to be that way 🥹

These days we have beautiful, matte lashes that don’t shine from a distance. When styled properly, they enhance the iris instead of overpowering it ✨

Here you can see my client in a light volume set — and fun fact: the “artificial” lashes are actually shorter than her natural ones 🤗

We were going for lightness and a natural vibe, and this gorgeous brown shade kept everything soft and effortless 🤎

And it’s exactly these details that determine the final result😱

The most common mistake even experienced lash artists make? Incorrect lash direction relative to the eyelid. It’s a tiny detail, but it can completely make or break the final look. ✨

When it comes to fan bases, there’s no “wrong” choice — it all depends on the condition of the natural lashes and the effect you want to achieve. Choose one type of fan base and stick to it from start to finish — otherwise, the lash line will look messy.

And fan spread matters too: wider fans are perfect for sparse lashes, while narrow fans create a darker, more intense look. Just make sure not to mix them, or the shading will look uneven.
