We are Joep and Teun Prinsen, pen makers from the Netherlands.

We use many different materials, from our own in-house resin casts to woods sourced from all over the world, complemented by metalwork.

It's that time of the year again! Yes, it's time! 🥳

I've done my best to balance master thesis work, custom work and stock work. While this didn't work out perfectly for everything, it did allow me to make 60 pens to take to the show!

I'm so excited to be able to also say that will be joining me at my table, and he's bringing some beauties of his own 😍.

Hope to see everyone on Sunday, don't hesitate to come say hi!

Another set of my own materials turned down. They always look better like this, the middle and left ones are the most exciting to me.

A week of being I'll really put me behind once again. Oh well, it was better to take some rest and now I'm back at full power!

I was not supposed to work this Saturday, but plans fell through. Instead, I decided to make and finish some more pens at a more leisurely pace instead of stressing on commissions, which was very nice for a change. These large pens made of in-house casts and wooden pens have just dropped on the webshop!

I really also have to start thinking about making more pens for the upcoming ! As always, I'm very excited to go!

If you're ever looking for something specific at the show, let me know. I'll do my utmost best to bring something to your liking!

A whole bunch of pens finished, some of which were blanks posted here a week ago. I simply HAD to see the inside, seems like some mixing techniques have worked out to some amazing contrast.

I hope you like what you see, some are still available on the webshop!

Let me know if you have any great ideas for blanks, I'm always open to more inspiration.

Some more stock while waiting for nibs to arrive for a few orders and some trials for custom orders.

I'm happy with the insides of these blanks, but they are different than what I expected initially. Back to the drawing board.

The treasure hunt that is turning down material is half the fun, though!

Blanks, blanks, blanks. Any ideas for names of these?

The rightmost and leftmost are the most exciting to me personally. You won't see the stripes on the left one and those blocks of colour will be more spread out. They are extremely colour changing, so that might be interesting!

Anabelle, , made a beautiful engraved ring for me to use on a pen a while ago. It's made of leaves hand engraved in a circle.
I paired it with an Ebonite from SEM called tideland, but that material is not the main piece on a pen like this.

It'll be on the website soon. Should we do more like this, with different designs and or ring placements?

Workshop macro's! Once again, some pictures from the making of the metal pens I've shown last week and the two more I'll show this week. Macro's are fun, a little less so when it's broken parts like in the first picture. But hey, what can you do.

It's that time again, few more orders finished, few more stock pens made! These have dropped on the website and are now available!

I've also started casting material again. Not too happy with the current resin, it's a bit more difficult to work with during casting, but still creates very nice pens! I'll get back on figuring out something else once again really soon.

Just having some fun with macro photography and stacks inside of the workshop. You can probably see I'm no photographer, but it's fun to do.

I had my last exam of this uni year last Friday, so I should be able to find more time to actually do pen stuff in the next month or two. Wooohhh!
