The history of my kingdom ujiogba
THE HISTORY OF ORUA KINGDOM NOW KNOWN AS UJIOGBA:
Let us say briefly about the short coming and the issues that went against her during those early days. The initial name of this town was UGBOLOBHEDE KINGDOM.
This town was in existence since the beginning of this world. The founders of this kingdom were the fathers of ORUA the great OKODU was the father of ODOLIGIE while ODOLIGIE was also the father of ORUA the great. Trouble started as a result of ORUA’S refusal’s to submit or surrender his best bead and ornament maker or carver at that time. The then Oba order his kingdom and soldiers to go and use force on ORUA to submit the bread carver. ORUA highly resisted this command, which resulted to war ORUA nickname “OJUMUAN as one who refuses to obey the OBA.
The issue now became a total war between the Oba Osemede and Orua the great. The war lasted for so many years or decades
For many years the Oba’s forces were not able to get near the river Ossiomon some of the Benin war found a short rout to get to a small river called Owuwu by the bank of the river till day break. The river collected its water to form a dam and the early hours of the day all the Obas war men were all swept away leaving but two men.
They called this river “EZENOGHIOBA” that is enemy of the OBA.
The war continued with heavy casualties on both sides started to sneak or prepare an underground village or palace and using the sand to make a barricade or wall of defense.
This was done very well to prevent the benin war men from taking away this properties including the works of his beads carver or ornaments, and also from taking him away as a captive. So the underground palace or village harbored some men and sending his first son prince OGBEBOR to move away from the war zone.
So OGBEBOR moved far away from the zone, while many left to far place like, UZEA IRUEKPEN, OHODUA, OKHUESAN and part of EWU all in the present Esan land and south ETSAKO.
So ORUA kept many of his properties in the underground palace and prince OGBEBOR left to safer area. The Benin war men did not see any men or any persons to fight with, and the war ended just like that without capturing ORUA or any war officers, Prince OGBEBOR and some of his people stayed far away from the former area where his father ORUA lived.
After some years they all planned of going back to the former site where his father moved into the underground a place now called ALUORUA-popular site.
They all refused to go back and argued that the people be complete as to withstand any further aggression or war complete means “JOGBA” before going back.
This new dwelling place did not bear UGBOLOBHEDE again but UJIOGBO. Let us be complete.
