The government allocated money to construct good drainage in your street.

The people whom the money was allocated to bought fake material, brought quacks to do the construction.

They gave you cut out of the money and you collected and kept quite.

Now heavy rain fall and sewage that is supposed to pass through that drainage entered your house, your shop, infact inside your room.

Now you are shouting "Allah ya isa".πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Hmmmmn before nko? What were you thinking will happen.

Well I reserve my comment sha. But before you curse anyone sha remember you also collected out of the money oo before Curse go bounce back on you.

LETTING GO OF MYSELF (3)

"I want to help you open your brain" replied uncle Michael moving closer to Rasheedah trying to raise up her skirt.

"You know I noticed your brain is locked that is why you don't always understand what you are being taught in class" uncle Michael continued while raising her skirt up and caressing her butt then moving his fingers to her va**na while saying

"this is the place where I will enter to open your brain and after that you will always understand well".

Eight years old Rasheedah did not understand what was happening but since uncle Michael said it will open her brain, she really wanted that so much. She wants to be able to assimilate everything their teacher taught them. She wanted to be able to get good grades like Phoebe and Sandra, her classmates.

Phoebe's father is a professor while her mother is an accountant. Phoebe's parents hired a home lesson teacher for her so most of lessons taught in class are things her lesson teacher had taught her and so she always get good grades in every class exercises given to them.

Sandra's father is a teacher too so he always took out time to always tutor her. He always make sure she understand everything being taught in the class. Sandra is not as good as Phoebe but she is second to her.

Rasheedah whose father is a driver and mum a petty trader was jealous of this two and wished she could be like them. Both her parents were uneducated so they couldn't teach her and they could not afford the fees of a private home lesson teacher. Even if her father could afford I, he won't pay as he sees it as wasting of money because she was a girl.

Rasheedah thought the reason why they always have good grades was because their brain was open and that is why they always understand what their teacher taught them. She allowed uncle Michael put his finger in her va**na.

"Have you found the door to my brain?" Rasheedah asked after some time while he was fi*****ng her.

"Not yet" he replied. "Come and suck my pe**ee first then I will use it to open your brain" he said while removing his trouser.

Rasheedah obeyed him and cupped her mouth round his p*e p*e and was licking like a baby licking lollipop. After sometime, he asked her to come sit on his p*e p*e which she obeyed.

As he was trying to force it to enter, Rasheedah felt a sharp pain which made her scream out.

Uncle Michael was scared someone might hear her scream and come in the room, so he asked her to quickly put on her pants which she removed before and told her to leave.

"You don't want your brain to be open abi? See the way you are shouting as if I beat you" he said to her.

"I want my brain to open uncle Michael please" Rasheedah replied already scared as she won't be able to get her brain to be open.

Uncle Michael was scared someone might be eavesdropping so he went out to check, when he was sure no one was around, he went back inside then told Rasheedah to come and be going home and come back the next day if she really wants to open her brain. As she was about move out, he dragged her back in.

"Rasheedah oya hold your ears" he said while illustrating how he wants her to do. She obeyed him, then he said "you must not tell anybody about what I am helping you to do okay?" Rasheedah nodded in affirmation.

"If you tell anyone, you will die and your mom will also die okay, so don't tell anyone" he said again. Rasheedah who was scared of death quickly muttered "I promise I won't tell anybody Uncle Michael"

LETTING GO OF MYSELF (2)

The wedding took place on a low key with only family members and close friends in attendance. The bride was taken to her husband family house that night after many advice given to her by her parents and family members.

"Remember the daughter of whom you are, obey your husband and respect all his family members. Do not do anything that will bring shame into this family, do not leave your marriage no matter what as I don't have any room for you in my house anymore, you have to endure everything that happens to you" those were Maryam's father parting words when she was ready to go. "May God be with you as you go, may He bless you with the fruits of the womb, May He bless you with twins seven times" prayed Maryams mother. "Hope you have heard what your father said? Do not go there and join bad gangs that will teach you to disobey your husband and do not tell anyone about anything happening in your home. You have to endure everything that happen to you so that you can also reap the fruits of your labor" maryams mother advised.

After all the advice and prayers, Maryam was taken to her husband family house where she spent two days before she and her father in law set off for Zaria.

The journey was rough and far, though Maryam has been told about how far Zaria was but she did not envisioned it to be this far. She was happy when she was told they had arrived at Zaria by her father in law and the journey to her husband house was not that far.

Maryam's dream was crumbled when she got to see the house her husband was living. She had expected him to own a house of his own, a beautiful one at that but what was in front of her was an old house. When she entered the one room apartment her husband was living in, she expected to see a beautiful bed with a television but all she saw was a tattered mattresse lying on the floor, with an old ghana-must-go bag lying on the floor with clothes dumped on it.

The walls were looking old with some little paints still on it an holes where bedbugs made as their resident. Everything in the room looks dirty that it was one of her sister in-law that had to clean the room before she was brought in.

Maryam's dream of having a happy life here in Zaria was shattered, she thought she was coming to enjoy luxury, she thought her would be husband was rich and she had fantasized how she would go back to the village during Ileya (big sallah) with plenty gift for her people. How she would look good and all her friends would be jealous of her. She cried that night as she was alone since her husband is not yet back from work.

When her husband came back, he told her to her face that he didn't love her. "I don't love you but I am only doing this because of my father. Don't cross your lane by asking me for anything in this house. The only thing I will provide is food and nothing more" were his word to her. She didn't have anyone to cry to and even if she does, she has been told no to tell anyone about her home so she kept quiet.

But that day, she promised herself that she would work hard to take care of herself. Three months later she was pregnant with her first child and later gave birth to a baby girl whom he named Rasheedah. Two years later another girl named Taofeeqat, then another girl named Simiat and then another girl named Rofiat. And that was when Maryam started facing trouble as Lawal would always beat her and starve her with the children saying she had to give him a male child.

************************************************************************************

Rasheedah knew she had to do well in school so that her father won't remove her and her siblings from school as he had promised. So she begged one of their neighbor who was a student of the University to be teaching her whenever he is free.

He was teaching her well and she was understanding it well, she was able to do all her hard homeworks and getting good grades so her mom used to leave her to go to this Uncle room even at night because that is the time he is usually free.

Rasheedah could remember that night when she went to meet him to help her with her assignment. He was already teaching her when suddenly he raised her skirt up and was caressing her butt.

Rasheedah quickly moved away from him asking "what are you doing Uncle Michael?"

LETTING GO OF MYSELF (1)

Rasheedah sat quietly on the bed thinking of how her life has turned the way it is. Everywhere was silent except for the sound of her sniffing back the catarrh in her nose. She has been crying all day. Thinking about how her one month old husband had divorced her and disgraced her really touched her and bring down tears from her eyes. 'Why am I so unlucky with men?' was the question that keep popping in her mind. She could remember how her father would insult her mother for giving birth to only girls and how he would tell her that she gave birth to prostitutes.

Rasheedah could remember a time her father beat her mother up when she was pregnant with her last child telling her if she gave birth to a female again, he would marry another woman. That night Rasheedah mum called her and said "you must be great person in future, you have to show your father that being a girl doesn't mean you won't be successful", "you have to do anything to be successful", "do you understand?" Rasheedah's mom asked holding her two arms and shaking her vigorously "yes mama" answered eight years old Rasheedah.

Rasheedah did not understand what her mother meant by what she said but she knows she has to do well in school and be of good behavior so that her father won't have to beat their mother anymore.

*************************************************************************

Lawal and Maryam's marriage was matchmaked by their parents. Maryam never knew who her would be husband looked like until the day she was transported to the city to meet him. He wasn't even present at the wedding ceremony.

Maryam who was living with her parents in Offa village was only told of her marriage to someone just two months to the wedding date. Lawal's father who lived in Zaria, kaduna state had come home for the Ileya celebration and had seen Maryam, a beautiful and hardworking girl and he thought she would be a good match for his son Lawal. His joy knew no bound when he found out she was the daughter of his childhood friend, Alhaji Sikiru. He was very happy that he quickly dress up and went to the house.

Alhaji Sikiru was happy to see his old time friend Alhaji Sefiu and he was more happy when Alhaji Sefiu told him he wants his son Lawal to marry Maryam, so he didn't delay the process. He called his family members together and a date was decided which was in two months time.

Alhaji Sikiru then called his daughter Maryam and told her she would be getting married to his friend's son in two months time. Maryam was happy that at least she will be leaving the village for the city soon since she has heard many good stories about Zaria and how people make alot of money there. She thought her would be husband would be rich since he was born and brought up there. She didn't object to the marriage as she has already pictured herself living in a mansion with her would be husband.

Lawal on the other side objected to this marriage as he claimed he had already have someone he wants to marry whom his father objected to because the girl is not Yoruba by tribe. After seeing that his father won't change his mind, he later accepted to marry her. But a week to the wedding, since he was a driver, he had to drive his boss to another state and will spend two weeks before coming back.

His father was not happy with this, but he had no choice but to let him go. So he quickly sent a message through mail to the bride's family about the reason why the groom won't be present and the brides family accepted that the wedding will take place without the groom.... To be continued

NO EXCUSES TODAY

What is that thing you have always wanted to do but have been delaying it saying "I'll do it someday".

We always say things like, I’ll read that book someday, I’ll start that exercise program someday, I’ll upgrade my skills and earn more money someday, I’ll get my finances under control and get out of debt someday, I’ll do all those things that I know I need to do to achieve all my goals someday.

I was reading a book by Brian Tracy and he tagged this procrastination as a wonderful fantasy place called 'someday isle'. Many of us live in this 'someday isle' most of the time, including me. We think, dream and fantasize about the things we want to do 'someday'.

So we give excuses like, 'what will people say', 'people will not appreciate what I do' and many more...

A New week starts today dear friend, NO MORE EXCUSES! Do what you want to do or don't do it but don't create any excuse as to why you haven't done it. Stop using your brain to think of a justification for not taking action.

That beautiful thing you want to do, start it today. Remember losers make excuses while winners make progress.

Have a fruitful week πŸ’–

BODY SHAMING

To me, body shaming is simply passing comments about a part of another persons body or about the physical outlook of a person.

This comment might mean nothing to the person passing it but it hurts the person whom it is passed unto and it brings down the person self esteem

I have had my own fair share on body shaming and the painful part is that it always starts from family members down to friends and then down to people you don't know.

A sister's post on body shaming really inspired me to also write.

I have always been the plus size and people always pass comments like 'reduce the food you eat', 'go to gym' and which I have even tried doing OMAD (one meal a day) diet but it not working.

I can remember a class mate in secondary school telling me I look like a pig and it really pained me but I didn't show it. I couldn't eat before going for lecture about 3months ago and my lecture ends by 6 that day. So I bought egg - roll to eat when I was hungry and sat close to one sister eating. Only for her to turn and say "sister, with this your body, you are not supposed to be eating egg - roll". I was shocked but for peace to reign I just left the place.

My nose is also another thing people insult me with. We were talking about people using surgery to correct some part of their body like their bum, b***s, which I said I can't do it only for one person to say I should better go and correct my nose (something that I am using to breath fine oo πŸ˜€πŸ˜€)

I know I am not the only one who has been body shamed but don't ever let it get to you, remember you are pretty, Unique, Special, Precious, Wonderful, Charming, Stunning, Elegant, Glowing, Attractive, Admiring, Adorable, Marvelous, Talented, Gorgeous, Dazzling, Pretty and ravishing.

Just be you and don't loose guard on your self esteem. You don't need to fit in to what people want you to be but be what you want to be.

Thank you for reading
