I think about who I used to be sometimes.
That shy, quiet girl… always on the verge of tears.

Small thing, I’ll cry.
Big thing… still crying.

Then life happened.

I had to stand on my own earlier than I expected…
and somehow, I became tough.

Not planned.
Not overnight.
It just… happened.

The soft girl didn’t disappear.
She just learned how to hide.

Now people say I look mean… or expressionless.
Like you can’t tell what I’m feeling.

And honestly… I get it.
I trained myself to be this way.

But now, I have a daughter.

And she’s just like I used to be…
soft, emotional, quick to cry.

And sometimes I watch her and pause…

Do I let her feel everything?
Or do I start teaching her to be tough early?

Because I know what softness feels like…
but I also know what life can do to it.

I don’t want to harden her too soon.
