I have said it time without number for startups to strive, grow and scale in Africa most especially Nigeria we need business collaboration, networking, partnership and team work. The National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) defines business incubators as a catalyst tool for either regional or national economic development.

NBIA categorizes their members’ incubators by the following five incubator types: academic institutions; non-profit development corporations; for-profit property development ventures; venture capital firms, and combination of the above.

Business incubators differ from research and technology parks in their dedication to startup and early-stage companies. Research and technology parks, on the other hand, tend to be large-scale projects that house everything from corporate, government or university labs to very small companies. Most research and technology parks do not offer business assistance services, which are the hallmark of a business incubation program. However, many research and technology parks house incubation programs.

Everything in life rises and falls on the leaders. If you see a home that is working that means the head is responsible and his a good leader. If it is a community at risk and backward, it is the leader that is bad. When you see a business flourishing and succeeding, it is because the leader is doing his job and building a good team.
The success or failure of every business is the responsibility of every business leader. When founders fail to develop their leadership skill they have all tendency to fail in the business.

Are leaders made or born? This has always been the question of many but the fact remains that everyone is born a leader but only few develop their leadership skills i.e. true leaders are made. You see, the day you discover yourself and your gift a leader is born but the gift needs to be developed, refined and trained. When you do this successfully, then a leader is made. For example, when gold is first discovered it is worthless until it passes through fire for refining before its beauty comes out and it worth the value placed on it. That is the reason only few leaders are made, only few discover their gift, train and develop their leadership skills. Finding your gift, developing your gift and giving your gift out are very hard work. Most people do not want to work that hard.

Everyone is a leader but your leadership skills need to be developed, trained and refined in order to succeed in your assignment on earth and in business. But you see, many fail to develop their leadership skills and that always result to failure in business. The second element to develop after discovery of your mission is your leadership skills. If you really want to be a successful entrepreneur you must be a good leader.

To be a good leader you must first be a good follower, learning to take orders from people ahead of you, find your mentors to refine you and direct your steps. This step is so critical because before becoming a good leader you must learn how to be a good follower.
Only then can you communicate effectively with people you’d want to follow you and build the skills necessary to build other leaders and also influence your world.

There is a leadership ability in your child, he/she is born a leader but that skill, gift and talent must be discovered, trained and refined before the leadership in him/her is made.
