This year, Egypt's Govt signed a contract with a Dutch
company to build 40,000 hectares of Greenhouse, and
the first phase has started. This year also, the ministry
of Agriculture in Iran has authorised the building of
1,000 hectares if Greenhouses , and 9,000 more in the
next 4 year. Making a total of 10,000 hectares in 5
years.
Why am I saying this? No country can be food
sufficient without adding technology to their farming, &
Greenhouse is one major tech! Successful farming is
not just dependent on mechanization again, technology
is key!
The Dutch with a population of about 16 million people,
and a size smaller than Lagos, earned €80.4 billion
from agriculture in 2016, and that was just 20% of their
GDP. The entire budget of Nigeria is not up to €20
billion, and the government still need to borrow!
It's only a fool that will not embrace technology in this
tech driving era. Do you know that Nigeria spends
about $1 billion(480,000,000,000) every year to import
tomato paste? Do you know that we spend more to
import powdered milk? HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW
THAT NIGERIA SLAUGHTERS ABOUT 8,000,000 COWS
ANNUALLY, AND 70% IS IMPORTED?
