Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger has died at the age of 48.
Manninger, who also played for Juventus and spent a season at Liverpool , as well as the Austrian national team, was involved in a car accident on Thursday, when his vehicle was struck by a local train near Nussdorf am Haunsberg, 90 kilometres north of Salzburg.
Manninger spent five years at Arsenal between 1997 and 2002, winning the Premier League and FA Cup in 1998. He also won the Serie A title with Juventus in 2012 and won 33 caps with Austria, the most recent of which came in 2009.Former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger has died at the age of 48.
