Have you ever been so broke that you cannot afford as little as N50 or a N100 to buy soap to wash clothes for yourself, let alone for your family?
Hmmmmm....
Maybe yes or maybe no. But that was my story after I had survived a ghastly motor accident in 2019 that cost my car and a fractured left upper arm .
I could go out for business.
I had spent all my savings and even my business capital on medication, treatment, feeding etc..
My business went down. I had 3 kids to single handedly cater for all their needs including feeding, clothing, medicals, Education and all kinds of bills you can think of.
Hmm!
After 9 months, it was time for the cast to be taken off completely.
It was a happy but sad moment for me because I knew I had to start the hustle all over.
I had no money. But as I was thinking, I had an idea. I called a friend who is a civil servant I told him to please make some contacts for me in his office that I'd like to start laundry services.
Boom 💥 💥 💥
He went round, told his colleagues, 2 days later, he called that I should come and pick some clothes.
The outcome was huge! I had to order a ride to gather them to my house but sadly, I had no money to pay for the ride.
I ran back to one of those who gave his clothes to me, I asked if he could make a deposit, luckily, he accepted and paid. It was more than enough to buy soap, hangers, nylons as well, pay for the ride!
Osheeey! Ha! Big girl levels!
I did the laundry with my kids helping out and within 48 hours, the clothes were set for delivery.
We continued with this with good sales records but I noticed that our highest overhead was on . Wahoo!
An opportunity showed up, I was able to learn soap making. I saw that liquid soap was better on suits and Senator fabrics... I decided to produce more of liquid soap.
This did not only help in reducing the overall , but also an additional source of income as I started selling the soap to my laundry clients and others in that office.
I it with an and I got more buyers than those who were already selling in that secretariat.
I also sold online until someone, a lawyer, saw the appeal and beauty of the product, and advised I should go ahead and the product. She guided me on how to get a etc.
I did all and by 2022 we were fully and properly registered with relevant authorities as
