Before you buy a used iPhone, read this carefully.
Most people don’t know these checks — and that’s why they get sc@mmed.
1. Make sure Face ID works. If it doesn’t, something’s off.
2. Turn the screen brightness all the way up. If you don’t see True Tone, the screen was likely changed with a cheap copy.
3. Check Battery Health under Settings → Battery. Anything below 90% means the battery might need replacing soon.
Finally, go to Settings → General → About → Model Number.
- If it starts with M, it’s brand new.
- N means replaced or repaired.
- F means refurbished.
- P or B means personalized.
The last two letters of the model number tell you where it was sold:
- LL – USA
- C – Canada
- CH – China
- J – Japan
Don’t rush to buy that iPhone until you’ve done these checks.
