CHAPTER ONE
Kiama you will be late for school" ifeoma called out her daughter who was busy picking up her bags.
Mom I'm coming" Kiama hurried up and ran out to meet her mother. Inside the car. Ifeoma mastered this habit of taking Kiama to school and bringing her back, no matter how busy she was in her fashion designing business, she will always create time for her little pearl, that was Kiama's English name, Pearl.
Look at the time mama, it's 7:30,im tired of making excuses for you, you have to buckle up ooo, mama won't be with you forever nne" ifeoma started her nagging so she turned on the ignition.
Mommy" Kiama pouted.
I'm telling the truth nma" ifeoma called her, a nickname she calls her specially.
OK mom, got it" Kiama pouted causing Ifeoma to bursted out laughing.
Kiama snicked a smile as she faced the window. Not long they got to Grace Land secondary school. Not noticing, ifeoma parked her car close to the road so Kiama could get down.
Kiama got down with her bag and pack bag and ran towards the school entrance.
Be safe girl" ifeoma called after her as always.
Same mom love you" Kiama waved before disappearing.
Ifeoma sighed, she turned her steer wheel to exit the premises when she collide with a limited black GLE Benz, hers wasn't bad it was a lexus 330.
She jumped down and ran to check out what happened, lo and behold she scratched the car and same as hers was scratch. She ran to the drivers seat to apologize to whom ever owns the car.
A man in a black suit came out, she thought it was his car, so she apologized enerstly but the driver went to the back seat and knocked at the window.
Sir" the man knocked.the back window turned down.
The scratch was a bit sir, even the ladies car was also scratched.
Oh" was all Evan could say.
I'm so sorry for the inconvenience sir" Ifeoma said before the man closes the window.
Evan paused before he raised his head, it was her.
I'm so sorry s....." Ifeoma paused mid way as she stare at that face,her greatest nightmare, the very man she hate with everything in her, tears threatened to fall down her lid but she refused to let it down.
She blinked away. Evan came down shocked to see her, ifeoma, his ify. The golden hearted girl every guy wanted to date back so badly at school.
He was an outcast that was transfered to Europe from US because his parents were hiding him from the mafia, he had to stay in Europe and learn to behave like them as his parents sorted out everything about the mafia, right in his transfered school he met her, she was still as pretty as ever.
If..y" he called an emotion mixed with happiness as he stretches his hands to hold her but she backed off which left him sad.
What was he expecting,for her to run into his arms after a whole 18years of leaving without a trace or calls,or even an explanation, nothing of that.
I'm sorry I scratched your car sir" ifeoma said politly through her breath as she bowed, before walking away to her car, she opened the driver seat, got in and drove off.
The driver was confused but he didn't have the gust to breath left alone say a word.
Let's go" Evan got into the car and they drove off, on their way Evan asked the driver to repaint the car after dropping him off.

Ifeoma took a u-turn and drove to nnena's office, tears strolled down her eyes as she drove, it was him Evan, he putted her in this mess, into pain and shame after how many years he was back like nothing happened.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh"she screamed in her car as she drove roughly. In no time she got to nnenna's shopping mall, she parked her car and walked directly to the CEO office, no body tried to stop her tho, she was a major shareholder and the CEO'S best friend, so she was welcome anytime.
Nnenna turned as she heard the door opened, she knew who it was but she was surprised to see tears on her eyes.
Ify ogi ni, what is wrong nne" she ran to her and held her in her arms.
Evan" ifeoma kept muttering in between sob.
It's okay, calm down and explain what happened" nnenna took her to the couch in her office.
After calming down she started telling her how she met Evan.
You mean you saw Evan" nnenna asked shocked.
Yes he's back nne, nne Evan is here to take nma from me, what do I do now" Ifeoma cried bitterly.
Kiama was her everything, how would she live her life without her life, Kiama was the sole reason she was still alive.
Ify calm down, I don't think Evan knows about her yet, and even if he does he can't take her away from you, never I won't allow that" nnenna said firmly.
Nne you know he's rich, he has connections, I don't even have anyone nne, mama don't even want to see me, even papa, what do I do nne" ify continue crying.
You have me ify, you have ekene OK, all of us would stand by you, we won't let him harm you or kiama" nnenna assured her.
Ify cried in nnenna's arms before she fell asleep, she was stressed and tired, she hadn't have rest in a long while preparing Kiama's porm dress as well as her birthday wears, she has to make her baby's birthday the best.
Nne laid her well to sleep before going into her inner room to make a call, she dialed a number she haven't dialed in a long time.
Hello" she called as soon s the call went.
Wow, look who decided to call me" Ekene replied.
Drop that joke Mick, Evan is back" nne said hastingly.
Who is Evan biko" Ekene replied.
Kiama's....." Nne didn't finish before ekene got it.
What, that son of bitch, as***le, what the f**k is he doing here" Ekene caused as he picked up his suit jacket and walked out.
Calm down, the worst is ify is traumatized that he's here for Kiama, you know how much she loves Kiama"nne said almost in a sob, she knew how to get ekene. Kiama was a soft spot and her sobbing did the work all.
Where are you right now" Ekene asked as he jumped into his car and started the ignition.
In the mall" Nne replied.
Catch you in 10" ekene said before ending the call.
Nnenna smiled, now we are ready for you Evan. I nnenna Maria won't watch my friend suffer for you to come and take away her joy it's a lie" nnenna muttered to herself. Meanwhile Evan wasn't even aware that he was the cause of some people's trauma.

Evan got to the company, K&B, it was a cosmetic company, the car stopped at K&B, his assistant was already waiting together with Keleb and some executives.
Liv came forward and opened the door for Evan which he stepped out gradually as everyone held their breath.
Evan wasn't an ordinary person in the company, no one knows his identity, words has traveled around the company that a major shareholder that was greater than their CEO just arrived. All the head of each department came out lined up as Evan scanned the place till his eyes landed at a lady who's face was bowed, on noticing where his stares are Keleb try to explain but Evan cutted him off.
Let's head in to the office" Evan smiled at the executives who looks like they would be buried alive.
The all walked behind Evan except Liv and Keleb.
They took the escalator, making Evan visible to every female in the company but he cared less because his mind was somewhere else.
They walked in the hall way toward the CEO'S office. Liv helped Evan to open the door and step aside for them to walk in.
Evan sat at the chairman chair while others took their seat on the long couch.
Well to ease the confusion, Evan owns the company while Keleb was the one coordinating the company in the absence of Evan, only the shareholders knows the founder of K&B COSMETIC, while on the outside it seem K&B was Keleb initial. Even Keleb doesn't know the meaning of the K&B initials, it was just him that knew the name, the name wasn't his but that of someone so special.... His thoughts were cutted short by Evan's words.
So? Evan stare at them waiting for an explanation on something.
They issues a lawsuit on the product for this month, they claimed palagramizem on their product Keleb explained to Evan who was just tapping the table lightly while listening.
And as far as I've searched they were no loopholes" he continues.
We have made sure to check in with the producers and also the materials there were nothing out of the ordinary" and executive chipped in.
They all stayed silent for Evan to say something but instead he stood up and walked out, they were all anxious what was next, what will he do.
Keleb and the executives followed behind as he walked toward the producers spot in the company.
He stood at the entrance as they all bowed to greet him. They were surprised to see the CEO'S friend in the producing unit, is he here to check the materials or he wants to supervise.
This is Mr Evan" Keleb introduced.
They all nodded trying to get where Mr Keleb is going to.
He's her.....' Comon guys I came to check out what you all I've been doing, as you all know me I'm a shareholder and I'm suppose to know what this is all about right" he said with a sounded laughter glaring at keleb for almost revealing his intentions.
Keleb stare at him in confusion but still went with the flow.
Yes Mr Evan, it's so nice of you" he laughed lightly.
So can I speak to all the staffs individually, I want to get to know you and also get to know your opinion on working with us" Evan continued.
Everyone accepted, so they used the departmental head office,Evan asked them questions like...
How they like their job?
What was their dream? Some tried to please his, while some tried to seem stressed or pitiful.
And some personnel questions but when it got to a guy, something was off about him, he was distracted with the way Mr Evan was staring at him.
Hi Mr Evan, my name is Amos" he greeted.
Evan studied him and the way he wasn't comfortable facing him, he could barely look into his eyes. He was scared.
Evan smiled as he thought of how to prey on his target.
You know, I love smart ones like you, let me tell you a story to see how smart you are" Evan smiled as he stood to his feet, Keleb watched carefully.

Evan asked and the man swallowed down. Huge lump on his throat.
I made sure his wife was r***d till she died.... His brother is in the mental hospital as we speak and do you know one more thing he has no fingers both his hands and feet, and he walks to greet me every time I'm home"Evan narrated as he watched the guy shivering.
Sir" Amos called" Evan turned to him.
You want to contribute anything" Evan asked sinisterly.
No sir"Amos shut his eyes as tears stroll down.
Like I was saying, if he is a minute late a leg will be off his body, if he is two late, a leg and a hand is out,and that is how I treat who ever betrayed me" Amos was already on his knees before Evans could finish his story.
I'm sorry sir..... I really needed the money sir, I promise sir I'm so sorry sir" he was already begging in tears.
What, sorry? did you do something I'm unaware of" the departmental head asked Amos as he was crying and pleading on the floor.
I need the money for my mother's treatment, I was tricked sir" Amos was already bleeding tears.
Evan stare at him as if he was amused but he was not, it could have been best the other company shut it, but they choosed lawsuit for a corrupted strategy.
Suddenly Evan laughed out wickedly. Do you think I'm a fool, you had other options but you choosed to betray your company, I can guess how much they pay you monthly, saving up is more than enough to do that, but you choosed the easiest means, and now you will be suffering the hardest punishment, take him"Evan ordered. Two men rushed in and grabbed Amos hands and dragged him out.
On their way out Amos kept pleading, claiming to be the only child and son of his mother who he claimed was hospitalized.
Keleb breath a sigh of relief. I'm done with this so take care of the rest, they all walked out from the office and headed out of the company. On their way out his assistant Liv whispered something into Evan ear, Evan paused and turned to Liv.
Get me Maya" he walked towards a Cafe close by together with Keleb.
I'm sorry I agreed for her to come to Europe”Keleb apologized as soon as they sat down.
Evan didn't say a word, he just stare at a certain lady who was sneaking into the cafe, Keleb noticed and turned back to see who was that and just as he predicted it was Maya.
Hey girl" he waved at her, finally she stood straight and catwalked toward them and sat at the empty seat between Keleb and Evan.
Who asked you to seat" Evan asked.
What? I shouldn't seat why?" She stare at Evan who didn't talk again.
Brother..I don't want to go ba.....". I have a job for you Evan said before bringing out a small jotter and a pen from his pocket, he scrambled down some words on the paper and handed it to Maya.
Maya took it and looked at the name neatly spelt out " Ome ifeoma Kimberly" says the name.
What? Since when did you start handling female target brother" Maya asked surprised.
Shut it and do your job, get everything about her from 18years ago, everything she did, whosever she meet and where she went within 18years till now, I want all the information by" Evan checked his watch.
2pm tomorrow" Evan concluded.
F**k hell Evan what's this 24 hours are you from real" Maya screams attracting the attention of other customers who stare at them briefly.
1 hour 30 min" Evan corrected.
What difference does it makes, I g*t work you know" Maya complained.
Then take a day off" Evan turned to Keleb who just made himself invisible in the sight of the siblings.
On noticing Evan stare he looked at them as they both stare at him.
What? Oh yeah yeah a day off sounds nice" Keleb stuttered.
Suit yourself then, a min late attract a punishment you won't like" Evan stood up tapped his little sisters shoulders before leaving. As soon as he left Keleb breath out, the way he held his breath he could pass for a swimming class.
He's just too much" Maya complained.
Yeah, you can say that because you are his little treasure" Keleb sighed.
What he doesn't treasure me again after coming to Europe 1&years ago, coming back he looked so cold and distance than ever" Maya pouted.
How was his engagement with Clarice" Keleb asked.
Didn't work, he called it off" Maya smiled.
For real" Keleb asked.
Yeah he did and I really wondered why he did that, he did love her and promised her a wedding after college but since the first day he came back to US everything went south just like the country" she paused for a while before she continues.......but wait are you sure he doesn't have a girl around" she looked at Keleb.
I don't know, you are a tracker so you should know and you are also in the best position to" Keleb stood up and patted her hair.
