RAINSTORM DISASTER
A team led by Mrs. Obayuwana Helen, Director:Edo State Emergency Management Agency (EDOSEMA) in conjunction with National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) carried out an On-The-Spot Assessment of Rainstorm Disaster that took place on the 29th of November, 2022 at Sobe Community in Owan West LGA.
The team visited the Palace of the Odibiado of Sobe Community and we're received by the Chiefs and the Queen
who appreciated the State and Federal Government for coming to their aid.
During the visitation to the Palace, Mrs. Obayuwana Helen, Director: EDOSEMA made a passionate appeal to the chiefs to tell their people to plant more trees in the environment as this will serve as wind brake during rainstorm.
The team was taken round the scene of disaster by Chief Larry Enahoro: Secretary to the Palace and Hon. Obi Anthony Johnbull: Special Adviser to Edo State Government on Political Parties, Ward II, Owan West LGA.
Hon. Anthony said the the incidence occurred on the 29th of November, 2022 between the hours of 5-6pm which destroyed over 50 houses in the Community.
The Chiefs and the affected victims commended the State and Federal Government for coming to their aid and pleaded for a timely response to ease their sufferings.
