Foot-and-mouth disease has been confirmed in the Karasburg district. The virus moves on vehicles, boots, clothing and tools; not only on livestock.

From today AgriTurf will do the following on every farm visit:
1. Clean mud off tyres, underbody and the load bin, then disinfect. Before we enter and when we leave.
2. Farm boots and overalls only. Town shoes stay in the vehicle.
3. No second farm until the vehicle and tools have been cleaned and sprayed.
4. Pumps, pipes and stock coming back to our shop are washed and disinfected outside before they come in and then again when they go out.
5. We stay away from kraals and livestock unless the job requires it.
6. We stop at every official checkpoint and we do not enter a restricted farm without DVS permission.
We do not transport animals or meat, but our risk is the bakkie and the toolkit. We will treat that risk as serious.
If you want an extra step at your gate, tell us. We will do it.

Wat is 'n Pappa?
Die hele wêreld is vol Pappas.
Grotes, maeres, vettes, kortes en langes.
Maar wat maak 'n Pappa 'n Pappa?
Hy is getroud met 'n Queen, jy weet dit sommer net.
Hy het haar gekroon met liefde en respek, vir sy kinders om nooit te vergeet nie.
Pappas stap agter.
Want met agterstap kan hy almal voor hom veilig hou.
Heelvoor is God se plek.
Soggens vroeg trek sy bid soos 'n miswolk oor die hele huis.
Pappas huil maar min, maar hulle huil word opgeskryf in 'n baie spesiale Boek.
Nagte deur maak hy somme en teken planne sodat syne môreoggend 'n beter een kan wees.
Pappas fix stukkende goed en dra al die swaarste klippe.
Hy lig op, beskerm en lei.
