We found another stunning spot, this time in South Africa. Witsand Kalahari Nature Reserve is a stunning little spot tucked away in the Northern Cape.
The Witsand System consists primarily of aeolian (windborne) sand. This extremely light and fine Kalahari sand was blown into the quartzite formation that underlies the dune system and holds vast quantities of spring, run-off and rainwater.
The dunes are combination of linear and parabolic which vary between 20m and 30m in height and run a length of 9km in a NE - SW direction and are up to 5km in width.

We also tested out our new rooftop tent, Custom Leisure Tech and totally love it. Our Flex Adventures fridge is still with us all the way.

It is so awesome to be out and about and camping again.
We had a fantastic camp at Klein-Aus Vista Lodge. Campsite 10 is the one to book, it is on its own, has ample shade and a massive bird nest which is truly magnificent.
The lodge is a few minutes drive from the view point of the Namibia Wild Horses Foundation, a definite must see
The lodge has stunning trails for hiking, walking and mountain biking. This is a true gem of a place situated on route to Luderitz.

How it all began
2020 was not a year any of us were expecting, but we were blessed with a baby and ready to explore and discover new places after being trapped in lockdown.
We bought a rooftop tent and at 10 weeks old she had her first camping experience.
