If you are buying a used PS4 from anyone, angkol included, these are the parts that go
first. This is the order I actually see them fail, not a list off the internet.

1. Controller sticks. Drift is number one and it is not close. Every used PS4, PS5 and Switch I look
at, this is the first thing I check.

2. The fan. Usually not a real failure, just years of dust, and it screams. Normally
fixable. But if it is loud AND running hot, that is a different conversation.

3. Disc drive. Either it will not pull the disc in properly or it grinds. Test it with
an actual disc in your hand. Do not take anyone's word for this one.

4. HDMI port. Less common, but this is the expensive one. Wiggle the cable a little
while it is running and watch if the picture cuts out.

5. Hard drive. Slow loading, random freezing, crashes that make no sense. Cheap enough
to swap, but you want to know before you pay, not after.

None of this means do not buy used. It means know what you are buying and price it
accordingly. Every one of these is checkable in about five minutes if you know to look.

Save this for the next time you go see a unit.

People ask why my prices are not the lowest you will find anywhere. This is why.

Every console that comes to me gets tested before it gets listed. Not a quick power on
to see if the light comes on. Properly tested, and I do them in batches, usually about
half a day at a time, because setting up to test one console and setting up to test six
takes roughly the same effort.

Then whatever is wrong gets fixed. Actually fixed, not hidden. Worn analog sticks get
the rubber replaced. Missing cables get replaced, so what you take home is complete and
not a console plus a shopping list you find out about later. That is the part that
takes the time and it is the part that costs me money, and it is the whole difference
between someone who refurbishes and someone who just passes a unit along.

And plenty of units never get listed at all. I do not sell:

Anything that is not fully functioning
Broken disc drives
Drifting controllers
Anything that has been heavily abused

Those get turned away. Saying no to stock is part of this job, and it is a lot cheaper
than selling somebody a problem and then living with that problem for the next month.

So when you see the same console somewhere for a lot less than mine, it might genuinely
be a great deal. Sometimes it really is. Just ask what has been done to it, because
usually the honest answer is nothing at all, and that gap in price is the work.

On behalf of both BSS Gaming and Hotakibi Emporium, thank you so much to everyone who came down for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe day at Bintang Megamall! Watching a full lineup of young racers go through the group stage, into the semifinals, and all the way to the grand final was honestly one of the best parts of the whole tournament.

We kept things at 150cc with Smart Steering off, so these kids were racing for real, no training wheels, and they handled it so well. Slots were capped at 16 with everyone pre-registered ahead of time, and the energy in the room the whole day was just fun, encouraging, and full of smiles.

A huge congratulations to our top 3 finishers, who took home their mini figurine prizes:

But honestly, every single kid who sat down at those Switch stations and gave it a go deserves a round of applause.

We also want to say a genuine thank you to all the parents and families who brought their kids down and stood behind them cheering the whole way through. Days like this don't happen without your support, and it really showed in how much fun everyone had.

This wraps up our two day tournament alongside Tekken 8 on Day 1, and both BSS Gaming and Hotakibi Emporium had such a great time putting this together. We're hoping to organise more casual, fun tournaments like this in the future, so keep an eye out.

On behalf of both BSS Gaming and Hotakibi Emporium, thank you so much to everyone who came out for Day 1 of our esport tournament, Tekken 8, at Bintang Megamall! And a huge congratulations to everyone who competed.

The energy in the room was honestly something else. We had a full Swiss group stage that fed into a double-elimination finals bracket, all played out on PS5 stations, and the level of play was seriously high. A lot of you brought your own arcade fightsticks, which we really appreciated seeing. We also had walk-in entries on top of everyone who pre-registered, so the room filled up fast, and by the end there was a solid crowd standing around the booth watching the matches play out.

The total prize pool for the day came to RM160, paid out to our top finishers.

Well done to all three of you, and honestly, well done to everyone who stepped up to compete. It takes guts to sit down at that station in front of a crowd.

On behalf of both BSS Gaming and Hotakibi Emporium, a huge thank you to everyone who came down to our booth at the Mecha MYY Hobbies & Collection Fest 6.0 at Bintang Megamall, from 17 to 19 July.

Honestly, thank you. Every single person who walked over, picked something up, asked us questions about a console, or just stopped to talk games with us made those days what they were. Setting up a booth is one thing, but having people actually show up and support it is something else entirely, and we do not take that for granted.

It was so good watching people find the thing they had been looking for. A PlayStation Portal going to a new home. The Berry Blue DualShock 4 finally getting picked up. The Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition, Monster Hunter World, Minecraft, My Hero One's Justice 2 on Switch, and so many other things for the collectors out there. Every one of those went out to someone who was genuinely excited about it, and that is the best part of doing this.

Thank you as well to everyone who came by just to browse, chat, or watch the tournaments run. You made the booth feel alive all weekend.

And a big thank you to Hotakibi Emporium for sharing the booth with us and making the whole thing happen together, and to the MYY Hobbies & Collection Fest organisers for having us.
