HOW TO MAKE SOMEONE DAY SPECIAL !
1. Make them their favorite food
Sweet are usually a good bet.
2. Surprise them with a gift
Choose one that truly reflects their personality or the relationshion you two have together. Maybe give them one of your favorite books that reminds you of them, or a CD you think they’d like (do people still use CDs?), or put together an amazing Spotify playlist for them.
3. Learn something new together
You get to spend time together AND learn a new skill at the same time.
4. Bring them chocolate and/or flowers
It works for friends too!
5. Write them a note
Slipped into their purse or pocket, left on their counter or handed surreptitiously with a cookie (see number one for more information), these little notes show that you want them to feel loved and don’t expect a big fuss about it.
6. Tell them something you like about them
Try to mention something you don’t think they’ve heard before. Like, “I love how you say the word ‘little.’ It’s just so cute,” or, “The way you dance to the theme songs in movies is so charming!”
7. Plan an adventure for just the two of you
An excursion around town, an expedition up the highest mountain in your area, or a train trip to a cool destination are all awesome ways to explore and feel adventurous. Pack generous road trip snacks, obviously.
8. Learn their love language
Do they feel most loved when they get a hug, a compliment, a gift, or when you spend quality time together? Ask them!
9. Give them your fullest attention
Putting away your phone and work when you’re together will make them feel like they’re the top priority. And practice active listening (because what they have to say is important!).
10. Tell them how you feel
Simply express to them how much you appreciate them. You don’t have to go on forever (“you’re the coolest person in the history of the entire earth!”), just be sincere (“I think you’re awesome.”).
