Two Immigration personnel injured in Kunak crash. The van belonging to the Immigration Department that crashed.
KUNAK: Two Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) personnel were injured when the van they were travelling in crashed on Jalan Kunak-Lahad Datu, near Ladang Tong Len, on Monday.
A spokesperson at the operations centre of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said they received an emergency call at 11.42am via the MERS999 line.
A team led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK II) Abdul Rasah Kaluang rushed to the scene some 38km from the Kunak Fire Station. He said the fire brigade removed the victims from the van.
There were three people in the van, two of whom were injured and sent to the hospital in an ambulance,” he said.
Meanwhile, in another accident, two vehicles - a four-wheel-drive (4WD) and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) - collided on Jalan Kunak-Tawau, near Taman Cenderawasih, on Monday.
A Kunak IPD traffic police spokesperson said the 4WD overturned while the SUV’s right tyre came off.
