RUMAH API DETAINEES UPDATE :
28/8 - Rumah Api was raided, and everyone (100+ people) at this gig brought to the Taman Dagang Ibu Pejabat Daerah Polis Ampang Jaya. Equipment and posters confiscated. Place has also been locked up by authorities. Yet, no reason for detention and clarification from police.
29/8 - 8 hours later, personal equipment confiscated that belong to individual musicians have been returned by the police, and only we were informed that the detainees being investigated under Section 6 of Akta Hiburan, Section41(b) Sedition Act and Penal Code 143 for illegal assembly.
Wan Hazril & Man Beranak are granted remand for four days. They run . Other detainees remanded here for three days. Not charged.
During the night, one of the Rumah Api detainee with health issues released early due to humanitarian grounds.
30/8 - The four international (American, German, Spanish and Filipino) tourists detained at Rumah Api raid are expected to be released tonight, but apparently the police are deferring the investigating papers to the deputy public prosecutor to decide to release, extend remand or charge. So no one being released!
In support & solidarity of the Rumah Api detainees (+100 detainees), let's :
1) Occupy Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Ampang Jaya (nearby Taman Dagang) by 10am on 31st August!
2) Volume up of people to come down and help jamin mulut the detainees!
3) Bring along placards!
4) Spread to circle of friends related and family members of our art scene!
