Ray is also the Founder of The Guitar Hospital ( FB: The Guitar Hospital ) which provide guitar (or stringed
instruments) repairs, maintenance services and restoration works. He is also a professional musician and guitar sessionist who has participated in many international concerts with international artistes. His instinctive sense about guitar setup and modification has gathered a large customer base for The Guitar Hospital throughout many years of guitar servicing. The Guitar Hospital is held in high regards as the main technical support for the local music industry in Malaysia, providing in-depth repairs and restoration works. The Guitar Hospital also gets frequent shipment of guitars from all around the world for restoration work, with customers from neighboring Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Since 2013, Ray’s team have been involved in OEM guitar production for Tartarus Guitars (2013-2016) and Italian “M” brand boutique basses (2013-2019). After years of manufacturing for third party brands, Ray have finally decided to focus on his own brand – Shue Guitars with their original design and concept in 2018. Throughout his many years of experience in pickup repairs and restorations, Ray has developed his own brand of hand wound pickups - “Ray C Hand wound Pickups”. During the repairs of vintage to modern complicated pickups, Ray has re-engineered their design shortcomings to enhance the tonal clarity and characteristics - he knows how to make the pickups “sing” better. Ray is extremely particular in his selection of materials for Ray C Pickups. From the copper wires, framework, to the specific piece of magnets used in the production, all are custom ordered with high focus on precision. Ray C hand wound pickups is popular amongst recording artist, music producer, guitar sessionist and stage performers. Many customers have replaced Ray C Pickups on their prized instruments of choice! Shue Guitar prides itself has one of the few guitar manufacturers in the region that combines an in-house capability to produce an instrument.
