Hello, I re-emerge with my version of Matilda, inspired by Roald Dahl’s book that I recently read with my kid. Since March, the story has sparked such a deep love of reading in her that she’s already blazed through several books.

It warms me to watch her disappear into stories; eyes widening, squinting, body tensing, then melting into laughter. Sometimes she shares funny parts with me and we end up chuckling or belly laughing together.

One book I try not to miss reading daily is my Bible. Its words are like streams of living water, nourishing my heart, mind, and soul. They anchor me, shift my perspective and renew hope in the things I long for. I’m also teaching my kid how to apply Scripture to her own life.

Hey!
It’s my nine year old daughter who’s reminded me to come up for air, let the world know that I still exist and it’s time to show off my work again.
She’s the best PR and marketing person ever. She would tell everyone of how brilliant her mama is at drawing, directing them to pick up the phone to follow me on Instagram!
After awhile, she lamented that I should really start to post my work again, coz she’s seeing the same thing all the time. “Help me to help you Mama!” She needs to see all my new work on here, so that she can “promote” me so much more to her teachers, class assistants and anyone who would care to listen to her.
This illustration isn’t my latest creation, but I’m posting it for the sake of completion and aesthetics following on from my last post in…(gulp) January!
I’ve been head down, in our little apartment, producing lots and lots of surface pattern design in the last six months to give volume and choices in my Spoonflower shop. Do pop in for a visit to see what I’ve created -link in the bio!🤗
