An infotainment head unit (IHU) software update for the PROTON X70 is on the way, starting from 15 November 2021. The update will be released in batches, so keep an eye out for a notification on the IHU once the new software is available.
What’s new:
- Improved Bluetooth call quality
- Bug fixed for JOOX music app and Member Centre login
OTA Update User Guide:
Step 1: From the software update notification, click [Go to upgrade] to download the new software.
Alternatively, you may go to [Cancel] if you want to update the software later. For manual software update, go to [Settings] > [System] > [GKUI 1.2.0] > [Update].
Step 2: After the software download is complete, click [Update now] then click [Confirm update]. The IHU will now start to install the new software and restart automatically once the update is complete.
Important Note: Please do not switch off the engine when performing the software update, failure to comply may affect the system’s function.
Step 3: Once the IHU restarts, click [Settings] from the homepage and click [System].
Step 4: Click [Restore factory settings], then click [Restore] to restart the IHU for better performance with a clean slate of the new software version.
Important Note: All your settings and data stored will be erased after the factory settings are restored. E.g., offline maps, paired Bluetooth devices, saved radio stations, music preference etc.
To check if you have the latest IHU software version 3.6.4 (187), go to [Settings] > [System] > [GKUI 1.2.0] to view your latest software version.
