A logo should tell a story. Ours does.
As we prepare for the 9th edition of the World's Longest Hill Climb, we felt it was time to refresh our identity.
The new logo features a stylized silhouette of Picacho del Diablo, the highest peak in the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, the mountain that defines our race.
Above it are nine stars. They represent our nine editions, while also paying tribute to one of the mountain's most remarkable characteristics: its crystal-clear night skies. Those skies are the reason Mexico's National Astronomical Observatory was built here, in one of the best stargazing locations in North America.
Every line, every star, and every detail was chosen to better reflect what makes this event unique.
Real roads. Real mountains. Real racing.

John Magnuson first arrived at the San Pedro Mártir Hill Climb the way few competitors ever have—riding his motorcycle all the way from his home in San Diego, California, with no support crew, no trailer, and no entourage. That was 2021...

In 2022, he returned to claim the title of Overall Champion, proving that determination and talent are often the best equipment a racer can bring.

Watching John at speed is almost deceptive. His riding is so smooth, relaxed, and technically refined that he makes extraordinary pace look effortless. But the stopwatch tells the real story.

A highly accomplished veteran of automobile racing, John only began competing on motorcycles a few years ago. In that short time, he has earned the respect and admiration of the San Pedro Mártir community—not only for his remarkable speed, but also for his humility, calm demeanor, and unwavering willingness to help fellow competitors.

A true champion on the mountain, and an even greater one in the paddock.

In 2021, Mark Miller rode his Aprilia Tuono 1000, an almost entirely analog motorcycle, without ABS, traction control, or electronic rider aids. Just exceptional talent, unwavering determination, and extraordinary riding skill. The checkered flag dropped and the clocks stopped at the San Pedro Mártir Hill Climb in 14:30, setting a new overall course record and shaving 28 seconds off the previous mark, which had stood since 2017.

Standing records are not meant to last forever—they exist to inspire the next generation to break them.

Legends leave more than trophies. They leave a benchmark for everyone who follows.

On this mountain, the battle is always against the clock and the road.
On his second appearance, Spencer bettered his own winning time by 38 seconds, stopping the clock at 15:21 and becoming the first Back-to-Back Overall Champion in the history of the San Pedro Mártir Hill Climb.
With this overall win, he cemented his place in the Hall of Champions. 🏁🏁🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hall of Champions San Pedro Martir Hill Climb

In 2018, one of America's most accomplished hill climb drivers added another mountain to his résumé.

Spencer Steele became Overall Champion of the San Pedro Mártir Hill Climb with an official time of 15:59.

A multiple-time Pikes Peak class winner and eleven-time Colorado Hill Climb Association champion, Steele brought decades of mountain racing experience to Baja California, where he added his name to the Hall of Champions.

Carlin Dunne set the benchmark during the inaugural edition of what is recognized as the World's Longest Hill Climb. His historic ascent earned him the distinction of becoming the first champion to be permanently enshrined in the Hall of Champions.

This commemorative plaque honors that achievement.
