We're seeing Yellowfin Tuna north of El Banco by about ten miles.... They're running anywhere from 60 to 180 lbs. Figure on a minimum of 12 Hour day on the water... I have "Tuna Safaris" for the truly obsessed!

It amazes me that they, whoever "they" are? In this case Scientist have discovered another species of fish with camo... It looks like a cross between a bird and a Sea Horse to me ....

Found near Australia, Solenostomus snuffleupagus is a shaggy swimmer that closely resembles Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.

Master Baiters Sportfishing & Tackle Weekly Fishing Report: Puerto Vallarta Fishing ReportWell, here we are again, it’s that time of the year when tourism drops off drastically and as a result, nobody is going out fishing. Most of my information this week came from private boats, but even then there are just a few. But that isn’t all “doom and gloom” amigos. We’ve seen some interesting, I should say ‘head scratcher” type of things. Stripes Marlin at Corbetena! Yellowfin Tuna running anywhere from 60 to 150 lbs. Even Blue Marlin are out there, but before you get all excited, they’re spread out. You have to take a stab at where you want to go, then go with the plan. The good news is there are some early summer species out there! The bad news, you have to find them. No worries there, we’re here to help and we’re still the only source of Comprehensive, Professional Sportfishing information and Charters. Fishing in Puerto Vallarta is still alive and well for the lucky few left in Puerto Vallarta as we begin to enter the Spring Fishing season in our world-famous fishing grounds.

Master Baiters Sportfishing & Tackle, Puerto Vallarta Fishing Report, March 13th, 2026: As El Nino rages with its unpredictable conditions, we’re still seeing summer species in the dept of winter in Puerto Vallarta’s fishing grounds. With ridiculously warm water temperatures, we’re seeing Marlin Season at Corbetena all the way to El Banco in March? Writing about 78-degree water temperatures at the beginning of March is the equivalent of skiing in August! So, for now, we’re ignoring the calendar and going with what’s happening on a weekly basis with no seasonal expectations from this point on until after the summer fishing season. Last week there were two Black Marlin boated, a couple of Blue Marlin and even Yellowfin Tuna! These sorts of things only happen with aggressive El Ninos and I can’t remember conditions like this for many years. But for now, the fishing is great and we have both winter and summer species roaming the area. Those who visit Puerto Vallarta at this time of the year, have a rare opportunity to catch Marlin in the winter.
