I Was Disqualified from a “Sustainability Award” — Not Because of My Work, But Because I Spoke Up
I never imagined that standing up for myself would lead to being erased from a so-called “Green Biz Award” — but that is exactly what happened.
After being selected as a finalist, I raised legitimate concerns and asked for a simple voice conversation to clear up misunderstandings. Instead of dialogue, I was met with dismissiveness, silencing, and ultimately disqualification.
I was made to feel:
• Discriminated,
• Humiliated,
• Marginalized,
• And treated as a problem to be removed, rather than a creator to be respected.
This is not how ethical sustainability leadership behaves. Sustainability is not just about recycling — it’s about respect, inclusion, and integrity.
I refuse to stay silent.
This experience has shown me that many “green platforms” still operate with old power dynamics — celebrating innovation publicly while silencing those who assert basic dignity.
To all changemakers: We do not need validation from gatekeepers to continue our impact. We build our own platforms.
My work continues — with or without their approval.
