A consignment of STV ammunition shall be arriving in Malta tomorrow. We will post a notice as soon as it cleared and brought to our stores. Besides the calibers we usually stock, which you can view on our website, we will also have news ones as well as heads and cases. With the current situation and the raising of freight costs, it was inevitable that our retail prices would be affected. We have done our best to keep them as low as possible.

Our current selection of Mosin-Nagant rifles includes some amazing specimens, such as this M1891 manufactured in the USA in 1915!

The Mosin–Nagant M1891 was a bolt-action service rifle adopted by Imperial Russia in 1891, chambered in 7.62×54mmR. Designed by Sergei Mosin with input from Léon Nagant, it became one of the most widely produced military rifles in history, serving through both World Wars and beyond.

During WWI, Russia faced severe shortages and contracted American firms, including New England Westinghouse Company, to manufacture the rifle. Westinghouse produced hundreds of thousands of M1891 rifles between 1915 and 1917. However, the Russian Revolution disrupted deliveries and payment, leaving many rifles in the United States.

The Westinghouse-produced Mosins are notable for their American craftsmanship combined with Russian design, making them historically significant and collectible examples of early 20th-century international arms production.

This example ended up in the hands of the newly formed Finnish Army following the country’s independence from Russia in 1918. It has not been modified or refurbished in any way – it retains all its original finish and it has matching numbers throughout.
