Good morning everyone,
For those who don’t know me well, I am a passionate collector of Maltese cigarette packets and cigarette cards, a hobby I’ve dedicated myself to for over 20 years. Alongside these, I also collect Malta pin badges and other to***co-related memorabilia, but my main focus and interest has always been Malta’s to***co history, a fascinating and often forgotten part of our island’s heritage.
Cigarette cards and packets produced in Malta are incredibly rare today. Most of them date back to the late 19th century up to the period before World War II, when several local to***co companies operated across the islands. Unfortunately, over the decades many of these items were discarded or lost, making surviving examples very hard to come by.
Through years of searching, buying, exchanging, and meeting fellow collectors, I have managed to build a substantial and diverse collection that showcases Malta’s early cigarette industry including items from well-known factories such as Cousis, Camilleri (Camler), Atlam, Marich, and several others. Each packet and card tells its own story about Maltese craftsmanship, trade, and everyday life from a bygone era.
In recent years, I’ve also had the opportunity to attend collector fairs and conventions in the UK, where I made excellent contacts and discovered several rare Maltese pieces that had found their way abroad. It’s always satisfying to bring these treasures back home to Malta, where they truly belong as part of our cultural history.
I would therefore like to reach out to the community if you or someone you know, perhaps an older relative or friend, happens to have old Maltese cigarette cards, packets, or related to***co memorabilia, I would be very interested to see, exchange, or even purchase them. Every small piece helps in preserving this unique part of Malta’s past for future generations.
For those interested in learning more, I invite you to visit and follow our page, where I regularly post updates, photos, and historical notes about Maltese to***co and cigarette collectibles. Please don’t hesitate to leave your comments, share information, or contact me if you have anything related to this topic, your contribution might help uncover a forgotten chapter of our island’s story.
