All applicants are welcome, but under U.S. law, U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents will be given strong priority. At least 6 mo. experience in nursery and florist retail. Duties include greetting customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs; Recommend, select and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires; Compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash or credit payment; Prepare merchandise for purchase; Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise; Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers; Ensures availability of merchandise and services by coordinating availability of inventories; Secures merchandise in store by implementing security systems and measures; Protects customers by providing a safe and clean store environment; and Maintains professional and technical knowledge by establishing personal networks to enhance sales. Must speak fluent English and preferably at least one Southeast Asian Language, e.g., Vietnamese, Thai, Cambodian, Laos. This is helpful in communicating and coordinating. If necessary with exporters of ceramics and other furnishings from SE Asia of which the company is in the business of selling. Must be good with growing and maintaining plants for our busines' floral shop.
