Citizen Watches သည် ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံမှ ထုတ်လုပ်သော နာမည်ကြီး နာရီအမှတ်တံဆိပ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝှမ်းတွင် လူကြိုက်များသော နာရီများထုတ်လုပ်ရောင်းချလျက်ရှိသည်။ Citizen Watch သည် နည်းပညာမြင့်မားပြီး ဒီဇိုင်းလှပသော နာရီများကို ထုတ်လုပ်ရာတွင် ထင်ရှားသည်။

Citizen Watch Company ကို ၁၉၁၈ ခုနှစ်တွင် ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံ၌ စတင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပြီး၊ ၁၉၃၀ ခုနှစ်မှစ၍ "Citizen" အမှတ်တံဆိပ်ဖြင့် နာရီများထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့သည်။ ကမ္ဘာ့ပထမဆုံး နေစွမ်းအင်သုံး နာရီ (Eco-Drive) ကို ၁၉၇၆ ခုနှစ်တွင် စတင်မိတ်ဆက်နိုင်ခဲ့ကာ နည်းပညာနယ်ပယ်တွင် စံချိန်သစ်တင်နိုင်ခဲ့သည်။ ယနေ့အခါ Citizen သည် ဂျပန်၏ အကြီးဆုံး နာရီထုတ်လုပ်ရေးကုမ္ပဏီတစ်ခုအဖြစ် ရပ်တည်နေပါသည်။

Seiko ဟာဆိုရင် ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံမှ ထင်ရှားကျော်ကြားသော နာရီထုတ်လုပ်ရေး ကုမ္ပဏီတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး၊ ကမ္ဘာ့နာရီဈေးကွက်တွင် ဩဇာကြီးမားသော လုပ်ငန်းတစ်ခုအဖြစ် ရပ်တည်နေပါတယ်။

Seiko ကို Kintaro Hattori ဆိုသူက ၁၈၈၁ ခုနှစ်မှာ စတင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။သူဟာ တိုကျိုမြို့မှာ K. Hattori & Co ဆိုတဲ့ နာရီဆိုင်လေးကို စတင်ဖွင့်လှစ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ အဲဒီအချိန်တုန်းက နာရီတွေကို ရောင်းချခြင်း၊ ပြင်ဆင်ခြင်းတွေကို လုပ်ကိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

Seiko နာရီကို (၁၈၉၂)စတင်ထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ၁၈၉၂ ခုနှစ်မှာ Kintaro Hattori ဟာ Seikoshaဆိုတဲ့ နာရီထုတ်လုပ်ရေး စက်ရုံကို တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။Seikoshaဆိုတဲ့ အမည်ဟာ အတိပြီးသော အိမ် လို့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရပြီး၊ နာရီထုတ်လုပ်မှုကို အာရုံစိုက်တဲ့ လုပ်ငန်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။၁၈၉၅ ခုနှစ်မှာ Seikosha ဟာ ပထမဆုံး နံပါတ်တပ်ထားသော နာရီကို စတင်ထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

အဲ့ဒီနောက် ၁၉၂၄ခုနှစ်မှာ Seiko ကုမ္ပဏီအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲခဲ့ပါတယ်။၁၉၂၄ ခုနှစ်မှာ K. Hattori & Co. ဟာ Seiko ဆိုတဲ့ အမည်နဲ့ ပထမဆုံး နာရီကို ထုတ်လုပ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။အထက်ကပြောခဲ့သလို Seikoဆိုတဲ့ အမည်ဟာ အတိပြီးသောလို့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရပြီး၊ ဂျပန်စကားလုံး "Sei"(အတိပြီးသော)နဲ့ "Ko" (အချိန်) တို့ကို ပေါင်းစပ်ထားခြင်း ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ထို့နောက် ၁၉၆၀ခုနှစ်မှာseikoရဲ့ နာမည်ကြီးပြီး လူကြိုက်အများဆုံး နာရီမော်ဒယ်တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့ Grand Siekoကို စတင်မိတ်ဆက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။Grand Seiko ဟာ အတိပြီးသော ဒီဇိုင်း၊ တိကျမှုနဲ့ လက်မှုပညာကို ပေါင်းစပ်ထားတဲ့ နာရီဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ဒါ့အပြင် Prospex, Presage, Astron စတဲ့ မော်ဒယ်တွေဟာလည်း Seiko ရဲ့ နာမည်ကြီး နာရီတွေပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

နှစ်အနည်းငယ်ကြာသောအခါ Seiko ဟာ ၁၉၆၄ ခုနှစ်ကစပြီး ကမ္ဘာ့အိုလံပစ်ပြိုင်ပွဲတွေမှာ တရားဝင် နာရီထောက်ပံ့သူအဖြစ် ပါဝင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။အိုလံပစ်ပြိုင်ပွဲတွေမှာ Seiko နာရီတွေကို အသုံးပြုခဲ့ပြီး၊ နာရီရဲ့ တိကျမှုကို ကမ္ဘာက သိရှိလာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

၁၉၆၉ ခုနှစ်မှာတော့ ကမ္ဘာ့ပထမဆုံး Quartz နာရီဖြစ်တဲ့ "Seiko Astron"ကို မိတ်ဆက်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ Quartz နာရီဟာ ပိုမိုတိကျပြီး ဈေးနှုန်းချိုသာတဲ့ နာရီတွေကို ထုတ်လုပ်နိုင်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒီအချိန်ကစပြီး Quartz နာရီတွေဟာ ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝှမ်းမှာ လူကြိုက်များလာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ထို့နောက်၁၉၈၈ခုနှစ်မှာလဲ Seiko ဟာ Kineti နည်းပညာကို ထပ်မံမိတ်ဆက်‌ပေးခဲ့ပြန်ပါတယ်။Kinetic နည်းပညာဟာ လှုပ်ရှားမှုကနေ စွမ်းအင်ထုတ်လုပ်ပြီး နာရီကို လည်ပတ်စေတဲ့ နည်းပညာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ဒီနည်းပညာဟာ နာရီဈေးကွက်မှာ ကြီးမားတဲ့ ပြောင်းလဲမှုတစ်ခုကို ဖြစ်စေခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ယနေ့ခေတ်မှာဆိုရင် Seikoဟာ ကမ္ဘာ့နာရီဈေးကွက်ရဲ့ ဦးဆောင်သူတစ်ဦးအဖြစ် ရပ်တည်နေပါတယ်။သူတို့ရဲ့ နာရီတွေဟာ ဈေးနှုန်းချိုသာပြီး အရည်အသွေးမြင့်မားတဲ့အတွက် လူကြိုက်များပါတယ်။Seiko ဟာ နာရီထုတ်လုပ်ရေးမှာ ဆန်းသစ်တီထွင်မှုတွေကို အမြဲလုပ်ဆောင်နေပြီး၊ နာရီပညာရပ်ကို အမြဲတမ်း မြှင့်တင်နေပါတယ်။
