Winter fairytale in Sigulda ❄️😍
This was the warmest winter in Latvia history with very little snow. But yesterday, when we're already in spring time, we got a surprise of a heavy snow in Central Latvia! ☃️
So we thought this is a good day to share a photo from one of our winter hikes 🌲📸
Here we have a couple years old photo that was taken in Sigulda, from a viewing platform at Sigulda Castle ruins. Isn't it beautiful? ❤️😍 Between snow covered treetops, try to spot Turaida castle 🕵️♀️
Sigulda, sometimes named Latvia's Switzerland, is located in a very green and hilly area, which is famous for many extreme sports that you can do here (bobsleigh experience - summer and winter, bungee jump on top of river Gauja, flying experience at Aerodium, high rope park etc), famous for 800 years old castles (Turaida Castle and Sigulda Castle ruins) and of course - it is famous for it's nature and everything it has to offer!
Sigulda is a part of Gauja National park which is the largest National Park in Latvia. It is perfect for hiking and kayaking, swimming and running, exploring and discovering!
Many more photos to follow in near future, but today let's enjoy the last touch of white winter fairytale 😌❄️💓
