Meet Lerato Masao , one of Aranda’s Young Basotho Designers for the class of 2026

Lerato Masao, proudly born and raised in Motimposo, Maseru. The fourth child in a family raised by a strong single mother, alongside his twin sister, two brothers, and three sisters.

Lerato's journey into graphic design began after completing matric in 2022. Inspired by his older brother, who is a graphic artist, he discovered his passion for design while working in the photography business. What started as curiosity quickly became love. He began learning alongside his brother and sharpened his skills through dedicated practice and YouTube tutorials.

When he saw the Facebook post calling for young Basotho designers to be part of the Aranda collection, he decided to take a chance.

Meet Khethang Filane, a proud Mosotho, born and based, digital visual artist and designer with a deep love for adventure and creative exploration.

Khethang’s work celebrates Africanicity, identity, culture and storytelling through bold, expressive designs that positively impact communities. With a background in Fine Arts and a passion for traditional Basotho patterns, he blends modern techniques with ancient inspirations to create vibrant, thought-provoking pieces that honour the richness of Basotho and broader African heritage.

His work has been featured in educational books, craft centres, and commercial spaces, showcasing his commitment to meaningful, culturally rooted design.

Beyond his creative practice, Khethang is passionate about nurturing young talent and engaging in powerful conversations that connect youth, art and African identity.

We are proud to spotlight his journey as part of Aranda’s Young Basotho Designers for the class of 2026.

Meet the second Young Basotho Designer of 2026,

We are proud to introduce Keneuoe Nkuebe, also known as Jennie Kay, a dynamic creative talent born and raised in Quthing Ha Ntsie.

Keneuoe is a multi-disciplinary artist, graphic designer, painter and illustrator, working across both traditional and digital mediums. She holds a Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Professional Design from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Lesotho.

Beyond design, she is a gifted singer-songwriter and a brand ambassador for KFC Lesotho. She currently serves as Principal Graphic Designer at the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture, where her work continues to shape and inspire creative expression.

We’re excited to showcase her journey and creative vision as part of the Aranda designers’ series.

Young Basotho Designers 2026 | Meet Thato “Wave Rhyder” Molupe.

We are proud to introduce Thato “Wave Rhyder Music” Molupe, one of the Young Basotho Designers for 2026, a creative force redefining sound and storytelling through music.

Born in Morija and raised in Maseru, Wave Rhyder is a songwriter, singer, and producer whose passion for music began at an early age. Inspired by his Gospel-musician parents, his journey started in church, where he first discovered the power of sound and expression.

His stage name, Wave Rhyder, given by his uncle, symbolises being ahead of the curve, riding the waves of sound and creativity. Breaking expectations, he boldly chose Hip-Hop over Gospel, a decision that surprised many but was fully supported by his parents, who encouraged him to pursue his dreams. Today, Wave Rhyder continues to push boundaries, proving that authenticity, courage, and talent can shape a new generation of Basotho creatives.
