The last time conditions were this good for a six-planet parade, most people missed it - tomorrow is the chance to fix that!
Tomorrow, August 12, 2026, six planets will line up across the pre-dawn sky in what astronomers are calling one of the most visually impressive planetary alignments in years. Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will sweep in a diagonal arc from the eastern horizon toward the southwest, tracing the ecliptic, the same path the Sun follows across the sky throughout the year.
For the best view, find a location with a clear, unobstructed view of the horizon in both the east and southwest, away from city lights. The lower planets, Mercury and Jupiter, will be particularly vulnerable to light pollution and haze near the horizon.
This alignment coincides with the new moon, the solar eclipse, and the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, making August 12 one of the most astronomically packed single days in recent memory.
Don't miss it!
